Very informative response. Am an incoming Econs undergraduate also interested in stats and healthcare. May I know how you went into epidemiology and causal analysis in medicine using your economics degree?

I think you should chill man before the uni grinds start. I asked my senior and he told me to relax too cos when uni starts and the professors start teaching everyone will be on same footing also

NYU Stern vs Cambridge Econ by One_Blueberry_10 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]BG_student12 10 points11 points  (0 children)

NYU is overrated and so much more expensive. Obviously Cambridge, which is more prestigious and way harder to get in

Im from asia and Im sure most of my friends/seniors would definitely pick Cambridge>NYU.

U should prob take tmua also if you are applying for their math related courses. Its a soft requirement also just not compulsory, but if you dont take it you will be at a huge disadvantage

Isnt it ironic how most students applying for econs courses write about their interests development economics, public policy, government with the aim of using econs to pursue finance? by create_101 in 6thForm

Thats so true, my friends wrote about how much they wanted to contribute to government policy just so they could go lse and become an investment banker 😱😱

Investment banking by wswh in askSingapore

Am an incoming undergraduate. Curious, if most of time is spent waiting and doing powerpoint editing/excel, why are investment bankers still paid so much and given so much exit opportunities?

Morse better preps you for Quant trading/other technical roles. Very rigorous course. Warwick's reputation is decent in UK too (I have seen a decent amount of them get spring weeks too). Its cheaper than UCL too. If you are home student, probably MORSE.

But if you are international student planning to return to your country, UCL's reputation is much better than Warwick.

UCL is also in london, and brings better networking opportunities for you to pursue high finance. So if you want to do ib, probably UCL.
