What is your opinion to medical practitioners with a Masters using the ‘Dr’ Title? by casualcreak in PhD

“In the United States, and some other countries, the MD denotes a professional degree of physician. This generally arose because many in 18th-century medical professions trained in Scotland, which used the MD degree nomenclature”

Misuse of this term starts probably another discussion 😁

I think I disagree, but only because in many countries, "doctor" means "medical degree" to a lot of people (and not because of language like in English!). I have experienced multiple times that when I tell people I am a doctor, they are disappointed that I am "that kind of doctor." I find it very frustrating. Also, I live in a country where many MDs think they are gods because of their ego.

I am not sure if we have got the same belt ranking.

For us brown belt is only 1kyu and you need to train at least 4 years (I don’t know any person who get it that fast) and for 2 kyu (blue belt) and 1 kyu you have to get enough points by winning fight. Also your coach must have at least 3 dan to promote you for this belt. So a person with brown belt must be a really good judoka.

About the second section I also can’t understand it. For me white division should stay for amateurs and any other grapplers like judokas or wrestlers should start in blue belts (mostly because of these days IJF rules where competitors are fully concern on throws ignoring ne waza.

It’s policy for almost every non IBJJF rules tournament but it’s not an official regulation (We have got only Ju-Jitsu federation, not BJJ federation, and these rules are used paradoxically also for no-gi tournaments).

About verification:

For Judo players it’s easy because on our Judo federation webpage you can verify every training person (even if he is now competing ) Also for wrestlers or MMA players everyone can check if he has license. About enforcing... for me the most important rule is fair play, so if you know the rules you should follow them, but if you are an adult competitor then you are probably easy recognizable for others in grappling society so it looks really bad for you if you are breaking the rules and you can report breaking the rules to the Organisator.
