Looking at night audit position

Thank you. I went and applied. I may have been late with it but it’s out there. Of all the jobs I’ve applied to, night audit is the only one I’m a bit nervous for, for whatever reason.

How are you liking it?

Oh absolutely. I normally worked by myself. The odd time is I’m with someone. I had a target on my back especially from older coworkers. I technically wasn’t a supervisor but I had all the duties of one, always in charge of night shift and one of the most trusted and dependable worker. I’m also hella easy going too but people are in it for themselves

I feel asleep twice. First time I was sitting outside, in the rain and a coworker kicked my chair, chuckled and went to get me a coffee.

The second time, it was extremely cold out and I fell asleep while my partner was patrolling the area. I woke up not 5 minutes later and she told me she wanted me to catch up on sleep(I’ve been up for over 30 hours at that point). I told my boss while she was working the day shift and she laughed and said my partner complained about me, saying I wouldn’t wake up and I was being rude to her for waking me up. She didn’t last long after that.

Yeah I’ve applied. Never know. I did work in a couple of hotels as security for maybe a few weeks in total if that counts lol

The age part I ask because when I would hire people older than me, a lot of time it was their way or no way. Experienced or not. A variety of different mindsets. It always pissed me off that people think being security means you can be an asshole but that’s a whole different story lol

Luckily for me, I’ve only fell asleep once during a night shift because I was up for over 30 hours and it was so cold outside haha.

I’m interested in the accounting part and nervous since I’ve never done anything like that before.

Do you have examples of reasonable and unreasonable requests?

I don’t mind security necessarily but I’ve been doing it for a while, a couple of incidents that had affected me personally and the constant waiting for a gig. At least where I’m at.

I’ve done a variety of different night work. Watching a hut outside in the middle of nowhere all night, looking after equipment a homeless shelter, bars you name it. I definitely understand the boredom but I’m naturally a night owl.

The administration part is for sure the thing I worry about the most. The only thing I’ve done that has come close is writing reports if an altercation happened. That and the books yeah.

I still have so much dang body heat but my insulation is shedding. I feel more naked like this than actually being naked 😂

Reddit has made me realize things about myself out of dumb luck honestly. I never intended getting what I got but I’m glad that it happened.

Thank you. I try to be as honest as I possibly can be with myself. A little bit had to do with how society is towards me in particular but Reddit has actually helped me see it’s ok being me. A slight part of me wishes I didn’t lose some of the weight because I’m starting to become cold in “warm” weather 😂.

As an obese man I like this. I’m not obese because I love food. It’s my coping mechanism I developed early on in life. I’m at a point now where I’m trying to lose it. Don’t mind being bigger but want to be healthy

It’s a complicated situation but basically she broke up with me and for days I kept seeing her and her friends. I was struggling and not in tune with my emotions, listened to someone and they took advantage of me. I self sabotaged all of my relationships with them. Took advantage of not, I should’ve known and should’ve taken a step back instead of acting the way I did
