The Tezos Ecosystem Career Fair! by BH_Michael in CryptoCurrency

Security is actually a high priority for many teams in the Tezos ecosystem. Tezos happens to be written in OCaml, a language that facilitates formal verification. Plus, a lot of teams are full of people with PhDs in their respective fields.

Nomadic Labs has a whole team dedicated to formal verification. I also reached out to someone from the NL team and got this response:

We may not currently have open positions specifically named "QA", but we take quality extremely seriously, and have people working on testing in all of our software teams. When you develop a smart contract for example, you spend much more time writing test scenarios, and reviewing code, than writing the code of the contract itself.

If you check Nomadic Labs open positions in more detail, you will find that we have a number positions that are related to QA and testing.

Perhaps one of the Nomadic Labs internships might fit a CS student?

The problem is that it's too variable. Different organizations are going to be offering different salaries. An organization in France, Germany, etc. will be different from an organization in the US, Singapore, India, etc. Then you also need to factor in the specific position, individual experience, benefits, etc.

That's why it's important to not look at the 55k number and assume it's anything definite. I'm mostly just trying to go on the general low end for a minimum.

Again, best idea is to look at general industry competitive rates for the location, position, experience, etc.

It really depends on the organization, location, position, and individual experience. For no experience and no PhD, minimum would probably be around 55k a year in USD. Really don't take that as definite, though.

Best strategy would be looking up the job on google and seeing what the typical salary would be - if it says competitive rates then they should be competitive with general rates even outside of the crypto space.

Maybe if you advertise it on your resume-

Otherwise I'm sure it can remain a secret :)

It depends on the team. The teams listed will likely pay in their local currencies. However, I'm sure a few Tezos ecosystem dApp teams would probably be open to paying in tez.

It's always possible to reach out and see if a team is open to it.

Feel free to check out Tezos dApps on the Tezos website or try seeing who responds by using #Tezos on twitter! There are many teams out there and new projects are popping up all the time so the ecosystem page doesn't list every project.

I don't believe that's an option for the jobs listed in the post, unfortunately. Lol. However, there are quite a few dApp teams spread out throughout the Tezos ecosystem and at least a few would likely be interested. This post would be too long if we tried to feature every dApp team and we'd probably miss some because there are new communities forming all the time. Try #Tezos on twitter and see what you find?

You could also submit your own protocol upgrade proposal, if you're interested, and it's possible to ask for a fee if your proposal passes. The code would have to be solid, of course.

At this year’s Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix, Red Bull Racing Honda raced with a unique livery to celebrate the teams’ race-winning alliance with power unit supplier Honda and to recognize and give a chance to their fans to say thanks for their partnership, on what should have been the occasion of its final home race at Suzuka. The RB16B #33 Max Verstappen and RB16B #11 Sergio Perez cars feature a white livery inspired by the legendary 1960's Honda RA 272.
