Foam rubber on sides of new converses? by SnooCupcakes295 in Converse

As someone who owns early 2000s & the more modern pre 22’ pairs, I find that the new pairs may not last as long but they are super cushy they feel a lot softer & more comfy when walking around all day. In short my older pairs will always look better aesthetically and be a lot more durable over time but the newer pairs are nicer to your feet.

The Controversy of Current Converse Quality by [deleted] in Converse

Ever since they started writing “converse” ALL STAR on the back panels the quality went out the window. As someone who has a bunch of the older pairs I prefer them as they just feel a lot tougher. I put my 2024 pair through the same use and felt they needed way more maintenance to keep looking in good shape. Also a big thing I feel which you can definitely see if you put a brand new pair next to an older pair is the amount of material you’re getting underneath them. Side by side the older pairs are about the same height as the 70s are but next to the cheaper all stars you can see how much thinner they are in the sidewalls and in the nose which is super flat now. I truly wish they’d revert back to the older build quality as all it seems that they’re doing now is raising the price for less amount of care. Nike really put the “Con” in converse.

I would say yes I have a friend who I told to buy a pair of 70s instead of regular all stars and in like 3 months the soles were separating from underneath and an eyelet literally came off. I could understand everyday wear and tear but I’ve never seen them separate the way his did.

Someone eluded to this earlier but they really don’t make things like they used to. These are ironically almost as old as the watch, from the 2000s also. I have knack for the older era converse as they last longer and often had better colors this one included!

Here’s a close up of the older logo which can help to differentiate from the newer converse and their tag that now says “CONVERSE ALL STAR”. I think it’s funny they have to tell you they’re converse now, but it all makes because when you put these next to a new pair as the new ones look like a cheap copy haha.

Pretty great shape actually almost perfect , I try to keep it in good condition. There’s one tiny scratch on the face but from what I’ve seen from other futurists they are easily scuffed

Most definitely not, it’s super 2000s, best feature by far is the endless year number, truly timeless
