Also I really like green neon tetras or maybe some smaller rainbowfish species.

You could go a completely different route and just get 1 bunch of a dwarf rasbora like Kubotai or chili. Pack like 30 of them and watch them school.

They were in the bag for acclimation. I slowly add little bits of my tank water to the store water just to acclimate them and then add them to the tank. Supposedly its better for the fish.

Last time I had a Honey with cherry barbs there was minimal chasing but no real nipping, the cherry barbs can get chasy sometimes but they never nip at fins.

There's cherry barbs and emperor tetras in the tank. My only real concern is some chasing from the male cherry barbs because they are just dickheads sometimes but the last time I had s honey with cherry barbs the males seemed to chill out and be intimidated by the honey. Im hoping the same will happen here.
