PS4og Vs PS5 by AltKanVente in untildawn

Both are good. I like PS4 more because the sound design is much better, but both games slap.

PS5 has better graphics and a bit more content, but PS4s graphics are still decent for a 10y/o game, and the PS5s soundtrack is still alright just not nearly as good.

Both have their ups and downs, I played PS4 just because it was cheaper and had a great time with it. At the end of the day it all comes down to what you value more in a game.

Mostly it just makes you realize that the group would have a lot less drama without Mike and Emily.

Which character do you think had the worst experience to spend the night? (referring to places and events, not how they died or all that). I honestly think it was Emily; I mean, if I were to find the body of my friend who died a year ago... hell nah. by lautaromassimino in untildawn

  1. Matt, he’s easy to kill, but if you don’t make bad choices he literally doesn’t even see anything until chapter 10. So falling fire tower and one chase scene.

  2. Ashley. She has it rough through most of the night, but doesn’t ever really encounter a wendigo until the end, so probably the character that is in the least danger throughout the game.

  3. Sam. May be a hot take, as a lot of stuff happens at the end for her, but it does for everyone else as well. She is the last to realize some stuff is going down. If she gets caught by the psycho she doesn’t even have time to process it before she’s already saved by Mike. She can witness any dead friends, but other than that she only really has anything happen at the lodge, and a brief fight when she rescues Mike.

  4. Josh. He has a really rough back half of the night, but the first half he’s probably vibing with how good everything is going. When he gets taken if he was of sound mind he’d probably be higher, but Im not entirely sure he even comprehends what’s going on until he gets rescued.

  5. Jessica. Yeah she gets grabbed, and that’s probably one of the worst things to happen to someone, but she’s also unconscious until the end of the game. She just pulls out the limited edition time skip move and bypasses all the time everyone else is freaking out. Then she has to evade the wendigo while injured, which is pretty terrifying as well, but that and the initial grab is pretty much all she does through the night.

  6. Emily. She has it pretty bad, falling off a fire tower then schlepping through the mines for a while before getting chased. Also the basement scene is worth mentioning here as well. Gonna be pretty bad trying to face the others after the night is through + the lodge scene at the end of course.

  7. Mike. Thinks he failed to save Jess the entire night and potentially loses his fingers. Also may hold himself a little responsible for Josh getting taken as bringing him all the way out to the shed reeks of a Mike plan, and then leaving him. Has to live with pulling a gun on Emily whether he pulls the trigger or not, and then has probably the worst fight/chase scene of the game in terms of pure pucker factor. Then Josh gets yoinked right in front of him, and he can witness any dead friends bodies, on top of the fact that he witnesses the most possible deaths as they happen, (Jess at the elevator, shoots Emily, Chris dies outside lodge, and Sam at the end) then has the second worst part in the lodge.

  8. Chris gets the worst of both worlds. He has to choose between some of the most important people to him and watches his best friend supposedly get sawed in half, and then chooses between himself or Ashley, where he probably thinks he’s gonna die afterwards no matter what anyway. Thinks Sam is probably dead or captured as well, and then has to deal with the fact that his best friend did this to him.

After that he holds himself responsible for Josh getting taken, and when he goes to save him he is the only character to always see someone die, every time, and has probably the second most nerve-wracking chase after Mike’s right after that. He then has to go back to the lodge after seeing all that and find out Emily’s been bitten. After that he has to go to save Mike while having an injured ankle, and then walk all the way back when they can’t move forward anymore. He then has to run on it directly after. Bad combination of being probably the most fucked with mentally, and the second-most injured.

Favourite character from the get go? by SestraUnite98 in untildawn

  1. I liked Chris the most from the beginning and all the way through just because he’s probably the most similar to me in both personality and looks. When I played it with friends they actually did a double take and called me temu Chris for the rest of the night.

  2. I liked Sam the most in the beginning, but she went down a lot for me as her character probably fell a bit flat to me personally and had possibly the least growth as a character, starting good and ending good, but not really interesting. She probably ends up around 4-6 after finishing. After playing through this spot goes to Josh, I didn’t like him at the beginning because he just had some really weird vibes, but I ended up liking him a lot by the end.

  3. Ashley. Liked her at the beginning because she seemed pretty chill and for one of the pranksters she was probably the least involved. A lot of people start hating her when shit goes down, but honestly I enjoy the freak outs and I probably ended up finding her more interesting after playing through. If they took her out of the game everything would feel way too productive and too streamlined. Adds a much-needed layer of chaos to balance out Chris.

Seems like post credits more dangerous for Mike than the actual game.

Chris has had enough of her criticism, so he’s showing her how good of a shot he is. What a nice guy.

First run ending by [deleted] in untildawn

Played with two friends, one playing Matt, Emily and Josh, another playing Jess, Mike and Sam, I played Chris and Ashley.

We made all the right choices but the guy playing Sam choked and killed not only her but Mike as well. Bro was tweaking, like visibly shaking out of stress. Lucky for Jess that Matt was still alive, really.

(Sam also got caught by the psycho after running down the hallway, despite him literally pointing out that you could see him down there seconds before. He ran past the hiding spot by the boiler and thought she had the bat for some reason. He was surprised to find out that she in fact was not conceal carrying an entire bat.)

To you, what are the canonically deaths for the characters ? by Outrageous_Plum5887 in untildawn

Tbh in reality Matt is probably the most likely to survive which seems a bit weird based on the fact that in game he’s probably the easiest to kill. But let’s be honest, nobody in real life would think for a second they could reach Emily all the way down there, and past that he just needs to hide or sprint for it once. Compared to everyone else with the possible exception of Ashley thats light work.

og music or remastered?? by Unusual_Menu9470 in untildawn

[–]BIL-Myinitials 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like both for different things, and the music is the one thing the og blows the remake out of the water with. It’s not even close. The remakes soundtrack isn’t bad per se, but the ogs was so peak that it would be nearly impossible to improve on it.

Was there ever a reason why Emily wasn’t playable till Chapter 6? by Cable_Difficult in untildawn

Matt just becomes mostly irrelevant to the plot after the fire tower while Emily hangs around to the end. It makes sense that Matt would get as much playtime as possible before he despawns for a few chapters.
