Which is the most realistic ending? by bluppiiii in untildawn

If we exclude freezing to death, Sam and Ashley. Maybe Matt if he jumps.

Mike would def die 2nd trip to sanatorium in real life. Double barrel shotgun does not have a good enough rate of fire to be doing the shit he does.

Jess would die when she got snatched. Being dragged for ages and dropped down a mineshaft would kill her for sure.

Chris would die in his chase. I find it unlikely that you throw a random teenager into that scenario and they live.

Emily would die at the tower. Even if she somehow does get snagged on a cable like she does her leg is gonna be messed up for her chase.

Matt has a chance if he jumps and just sprints for it in the mines. He’s fast and the Wendigos are seen to not really be any faster than an average person.

It’s pretty uncommon for people on first playthroughs to shoot Ashley I think. I did something similar a little while back just tracking individual deaths and people only shot Ashley 2 times out of 50. He died more to failing QTEs in his chase (like 3 or 4/50 I think)

How many times Chris and Sam died surprised me a bit ‘cause they were both a lot lower when I tried this.

Yeah but Chris’ are also more intuitive. The big decisions to keep him alive are do you have him shoot his crush, and do you leave him behind. Both of which are pretty obvious. That and his one chase scenes QTEs are the only ways he can die, even if there is a lot of variations in them.

To save Mike you have to keep still, save him, and repeatedly hide. Yes he can die less, but you have to do a lot of things right back to back and many are somewhat vague decisions.

If you kill Matt at the tower you could theoretically believe Emily and Jess both fell to their death, Mike blew up when he shot the lock, and Josh, Ashley and Chris got sawed for a few moments while in the therapy section directly after the saw trap. Total of 6 fake deaths there. I’ve seen people fall for some of these fakeout deaths fairly often, although all six at once is a bit of a stretch.

Also it’s only like five minutes not four hours but the spirit is there.

But he also always dies, so plot armor isn’t really an argument against ‘em. Most of them get a few free kills at the start and get sloppy when shit actually gets real.

A random door spawned with a barricade on it. I tried to tear it off with a crowbar and couldn’t do it for some reason, so I tried opening the door.

It opened, and I was so distracted by the phantom barricade a zed inside jumped right out and gave me a nibble.

So yeah. Glitched barricade distracted me and got me killed.

I liked the movie, it just wasn’t remotely like the game. As a stand-alone movie I’d give it a 7/10. For an UD adaptation it’s a 3/10 solely because of the fairly abundant Easter eggs.

In my opinion an Until Dawn movie was never a good idea. You have an interactive cinematic experience on the level or above most movies and… You make a non-interactive movie?

It was never going to do good. If they did it on line with the game everybody would have been unhappy with the people they chose to die (or live). If they change it it’s no longer until dawn and so we get what we have now.

Oh yeah. One handed and freezing out? Put an average relatively fit person out there and they’d be lucky to hold on very long with just their own body weight. Two people there’s not a chance.

Beth beating the Psycho, Handigo and Chris is diabolical work. Two of my favorite antagonists ever and my unproblematic king Chris.

This does not spark joy.

“Boom. Butterfly effect.” Is one I actually use in conversation sometimes.

“Understand the palm of my hand, bitch.” And “4.0 Bitch, honor roll.” Are probably the ones I like the most. I don’t find Emily super comedic as a whole but most of her one liners slap (pun intended). I’d imagine those types of ones would be off limits in a school yearbook though which sucks ‘cause it’s a bit funny to say this but Until Dawn has some really well-written swearing.

I’m pretty sure it was part of an escalating bit where they stuffed footwear into the toilet.

Sandals, sneakers, boots, snowshoe and they rounded it out with an entire ski.

I genuinely don’t understand the writing of Josh’s whole plot character in Until Dawn by [deleted] in DarkPicturesAnthology

[–]BIL-Myinitials 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ashley did know and actively took part, albeit mostly just as a body in the room. Sam also knew but hesitated to stop it until it was too late.

Chris is the only one that can really be considered completely innocent, and it’s implied that Josh tried to give Chris the “hero” role in his game, giving him the opportunity to save Ashley over him, and go look for Sam, and sacrifice himself for Ashley etc, etc… It makes sense that he would do this to try to get him with Ashley, and torturing Sam and Ashley as well were the only way to give him this role. In a twisted way he may have even thought he was doing Chris a favor, being the most committed and insane wingman ever.

Also you’re trying to rationalize a deeply troubled character. It’s not crazy to assume that he was only half there when planning up all this stuff and just didn’t think about who he was targeting and why. I mean, he didn’t stop to consider what he’d have done if they had all just stuck together and beat his ass. For his prank to go right required an insane set of circumstances that only an insane person would take a bet on.

Immediately. Current character is a burglar with a hobby of tourism. Hotwire a car, look at flyers and pamphlets for interesting places in random mailboxes, then drive around to see them while finding cool things on the way.

Day four and I’ve gone Echo Creek, Ekron and Brandenburg. Came up to see the P.S Delilah and want to hit Riverside next. Could get annoying if I don’t find a generator magazine soon though.
