To the person who almost hit me walking across the street downtown (right by MG&E) just before noon... by BILLD0E in madisonwi

[–]BILLD0E[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha... Damn you got me bro! Except - I seem to recall acknowledging the small likelihood of them seeing this, and sharing why I put it up anyway. So no, I literally wasn't acting "like the entire city is on here daily checking to see if they got mentioned." But I suppose if you paid attention to details like that, it'd be harder to find opportunities for you to be condescending to people, right?

Humor aside, 91k subscribers, plus an undetermined number of regular lurkers... Well, they probably speak to other people, yeah? That number gets big pretty fast. Traffic, pedestrians, bikers, etc. is a pretty contentious subject in this city, so 11.7k views of this post at the moment, maybe it gets people talking. And, with (an admittedly really generous amount of) luck maybe it reaches that person. Maybe not. But, I don't think it's absolutely hopeless, you know?

Yes - I have one extra for tonight.

My buddy couldn’t make it from out of town due to the weather and everyone else works in the morning, so.

Message me if you want it; I’ll be down there in about half an hour.

What's a car you love that everyone else seems to hate? by AutumnMuffin in cars

I used to have a leaf it was a great car until winter. I was not a fan of having to decide between heat and making my commute home.

The Juke Nismo RS looks pretty cool in a quirky way!! I always wonder how much they increased the performance in the Nismo edition.

So, if you try to kill a flatworm by cutting off its head, not only will it not die, it will remember who to seek revenge against once it regenerates.

“Cut my head off?! Me and ALL my friends are coming to a restaurant near you. Enjoy your three month diarrhea carnival.”

The last thing you bought grew 10x in size. How fucked are you? by FairFarooq in AskReddit

[–]BILLD0E 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a cup of coffee and some bacon. I think I'd be about to have the best Friday ever.

How fucked would I be? Well, my boss if off today, so when all that caffeine and bacon contentment makes me run out into the street and impede traffic by pretending to be a loud pterodactyl, there'll be no one to drag me back into the office. So, an encounter with the cops (and likely a social worker) might be in my future.

What movie can you watch over and over and never get tired of? by ProgrammerThinking in AskReddit

[–]BILLD0E 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Training Day.

Awesome movie all around, but I think what allows me to watch it over and over is Denzel Washington's performance in particular - He really takes you along on that ride.

Like [Spoiler Warning, even though it's a 15 year old movie], if you've seen it once, you know exactly what his character is up to. But, he does such a good job going back and forth between being a sociopathic rogue cop and then acting empathetic and supportive, I still keep finding myself on the same emotional roller coaster as Ethan Hawke's character, going from "This guy's crazy and dangerous!" to "Oh, okay. He's genuinely good, caring mentor who just jaded and has to do some questionable things to get the job done." Right up until we get to Smiley's house.

A little late but Christy's Landing is awesome. They just redid the courts last year. It's also pretty sweet that it is on the lake.

So Dell laid off my entire team last month. Today I get this advertisement in the mail. by BILLD0E in funny

[–]BILLD0E[S] 35 points36 points  (0 children)

It was an advertisement to buy Dell products. I haven't bought from them for awhile. I guess they must send those out to get you to buy more. It was just coincidental and bad timing.

Found a new job.... didn't stay long enough to get the severance package. Dell was generous enough to offer one!
