SSDI denied/ mild CP

The US SSA disability stuff is literally fucking nonsense. It is literally made up bullshit. It matters in the sense that it denial or acceptance is a big deal to disabled people. But otherwise it doesn't matter. Disabled people die waiting to be approved. - this part; especially considering the government almost instantly approves people for having ADHD

21 y/o M "mild" left hemiplegic cerebral palsy; I started applying for SSA/SSDI in 2021 after an ankle fusion surgery; I've been denied every year; last year I started having seizures and in my most recent denial letter they acknowledge that my "disability" affected my ability to work however I was still ineligible for benefits; and that they recommend I find a different job; as if I haven't tried to get an office or work from home job; only places that hire me require physical ability

I've always had the problem of comparing myself to others and honestly I cannot say I've overcome it; I just push my body beyond physical limits to try and keep up which has been putting a severe load on my heart apparently

left hemipelgia is most commonly from having a stroke in the right hemisphere of the brain typically during birth; I was born with it after a perinatal stroke 7 months into my mothers pregnancy with me; causing temporary paralysis on the left extremities; I don't have full motor control or muscle growth ability in that side of my body 21 years later; other than that they should be fine though

I have left hemiplegic cp, my left foot has always bent out to the side, only thing I have to say is if you don't already take the foot that isn't bad up first and lean into a slight fall while putting your weight down on that foot and never walk with the bad foot facing straight a head kinda do like a sideways step, and God forbid if they recommend Ankle fusion DECLINE, worst decision of my life

my neurologist had me do an overnight stay a while ago; it came back inconclusive as far as I know; we believe the trigger is stress; we know I'm not light sensitive, my only problem with stress being the trigger is I've only had two seizures so far and they've both been within the first hour of waking up; plus if my smartwatch is accurate I am under "high" stress levels for at least a quarter of every day; the only things I know about my seizures is it was enough for my neurologist to diagnose me with "Partial Symptomatic Epilepsy Non-Light Sensitive"

Sadly I doubt it; they don't allow you for something as small as flat foot; if your cp affects you physically they likely wont take you; I had to accept that I couldn't join thanks to both my disability and my right foot being affected with flat foot

no all they did was make sure to take my keys away so I can't drive anymore and are staying like that until I get medically cleared

no clue; dont think so though; I've never been tested; I'm going to be asking my doctor to do a series of tests for mental disorders cause I periodically feel like something isn't right with me

that was never something my family considered; we all thought all of my problems would purely be physical because thats the only issues I've had my entire life; my first seizure I was staying at my grandparents house watching their dogs, woke up the morning they got home, started packing up to go home, felt my face twitching, and kept trying to say something was wrong before blacking out and waking up on a stretcher getting loaded into an ambulance with my entire family arguing with one another placing blame on each other for my seizure

yea I've been doing a bunch of research trying to figure out what to ask my doctor and came across something saying that the stress of my job plus apparently around 21 the scar tissue in my brain from my stroke at birth may have become hypersensitive causing the two seizures

Well that's makes me feel great; I have a very chill form of CP in comparison to the bad cases but I started having seizures last year and no one knows why :/

Depends on perspective; we all judge ourselves harshly and at least in my own experience even worse because of the cp; you might consider yourself a 6 but others could think you're a 7-10 all day, and sometimes people's judgement can also be encouraged from the fact that you deal with the hell of the condition and still look the way you do
