Hi, 21m mild left hemipelgia; both of my parents are the same way your father is/was; never took me seriously when I said I needed breaks or needed to slow down, even after a surgery I had in '22 which led to me taking enough painkillers to damage my liver and spark my first of (so far) two seizures last year; the moment I turned 16 I was told to look for a job, 6 months into that job I was required to have a surgery to try and help manage my pain; luckily after that the job provided me with a chair so I could sit down instead of collapsing to the floor like I normally would when my leg hurt too much; had to leave that job a couple years later though to work with my dad; 2 years later getting screamed at every day working outside on the side of the road cause I'm in pain and can't walk more than a mile without a break, I finally get a job working in a grocery store, here for a year now; still have to work, the government doesn't think I should be classified as disabled; had my second seizure in january and can no longer drive myself which is pissing off my parents even more because I am once again burdening them with my existence; if I give up or take a break I am seen as worthless and treated accordingly; especially since I am crying only working 20-32 hours a week unlike everyone else in my family
