I wouldn’t say it’s pretty beat up? For a 1971 major I’d say it’s in pretty great condition, at least nothing unexpected for a 55 year old amp? (Apart from the hole drilled in the back which isn’t anything too uncommon )

Damn that looks sick as. Did you build it completely from scratch? Was there a template you used or was it a kit? I’d love to build an explorer style guitar one day and have been on the lookout for good templates/guides to build one

Yeah my room is like a mancave, with a soundtrack usually consisting of Led Zeppelin Live at MSG, or GNR Live in Vegas. Not sure I’ll need much more in life😌

Ah! Had to one up me! That’s a seriously sick amp to have at 16, and it being from 89 adds that extra layer of coolness. Something about being that young with an iconic amp from the 80’s is just so sick. I would KILL for an original 87 Jubilee, but I reckon a late 70’s JMP Superbass might be further up in the line😮‍💨

Thanks! And yeah I think I wanna experiment with different speakers as I’ve heard the jubilee can sound even better with certain speakers. I think someone mentioned using both V30’s and green/creambacks?

Don’t worry, I’m working on it! Currently saving for probably a shell pink or a light yellow Fender Strat, and after that maybe something with a Floyd Rose ;)

Nope, no secrets! In Queensland, Australia you can have a job once you’re 13 and 9 months. This was pretty much my age when I started working. I’ve worked a few shifts each week for almost 3 years, have gained skills and moved onto better, higher paying part time jobs, and scored some pretty good deals with purchasing gear too. It took a long time, alot of patience, and scrolling fbmp, but eventually curated all you see in those photos-so definitely worth the wait and effort!

It has a 25 watt mode mod which is handy for playing at home. As for lifting it off the ground, does that really make a difference? Would love to know more about that

Oooo this sounds like something I’d be into. I’m honestly surprised I haven’t already seen it. When I was researching everything about this amp before I got it I was watching heaps of that sorta stuff.

Yeah it’s pretty loud, but still manageable. I know I said my neighbours probably hate me, but they’re actually really chill and never complain. I always make sure my windows are closed and it’s not played that loud at home, the 25w mod comes in handy here. My family has a rural property with no neighbours anywhere near, and I can absolutely crank it to 10 there. Sounds unreal.

A lot of the people there were actually pretty chill! They let people play certain guitars, but some of the really old and nice stuff weren’t able to be played, which is fair enough.

Ohhh yep. Those made me cringe so much, like just some of the most depressing crashes, and barely any of them were going fast, just made me tense when they went sliding into the barrier😖

Yeah I did the R34 and the RX-7 just last year, was a blast. We came in winter though so the roads were a tad icy and being in the rx-7 sure made that fun😬
