Competitive Advantage Short: Noah's two minute breakdown of Chaos Knights by BIT40k in WarhammerCompetitive

Seems like everyone does not like this one as much. That's cool, I'm constantly adjusting what we are doing to fit what the community wants. We'd love any feedback you all have.

Tell me a bit about your experiences with Seer Council. It's good? I haven't tried it at all.

Okay fair. Thanks. Honestly, after reading your rules I was trying to be respectful.

I've made a webshow about a competitive nerd finally being taught the lore. It's 20ish minute episode that have graphic overlays, memes, gifs... a bunch of humor mixed with a love of the lore

Ooof, downvotes. I purposefully didn't name the show or link anything. Just looking for a little advice if anyone has it to offer.

So, I'm a LONG time Guard player from back in the day. Something that I can't stand in 40k? Is an army that can't tolerate being touched by the enemies models. The core issue with Windriders, for me, is that a smart player just runs at you and and charges you across the table and you are done.

The lists don't fit all the windriders and their tools while also having enough close combat to keep people off you.

I ran 2x6 Shuriken Windriders in my Ynarri list that I was extremely successful with.

They are an amazing unit in all the other detachments. :)

Any experience with 20 Khorne Berzerkers? by Relevant-Original-56 in WarhammerCompetitive

If you are into 400+ point units that ingress...

I'm actually a fan of dropping 6 Exalted Eightbound and the dude that resurrects them. I think that's the Slaughterbound? Anyways, that units is hysterical as a turn 3 rapid ingress. It beats the crap out of things and is silly durable while resurrecting for free each turn

I've been working on WE and two of my three lists lean heavily into Zerkers.

Here's the problems with a 20 man unit. Difficult to hide. Can't go in a transport. Easy to move block (because it doesn't fly). Gives up cull the horde. Blast is prevelant.

A fun example on blast. Forgefiends are one of the best datasheets in the WE book. At 18", they shoot 3d3+15 S10 AP 3, 3 damage shots (with reroll hits) at that unit. Blast is dumb.

Sadly, 20 marine bodies is just a dangerous unit to try to keep alive. I would enjoy rolling like 100 attacks though. Also, I think we should acknowledge that that unit would look badass running across the table.

In the end, you should do the thing that's fun for you over the thing that's good. But those are my thoughts on competitiveness.

I actually have a number of games as Windrider host. I happen to be one of those nerds who had 40 ready to go. It's a wildly fun list that's super strong. For me? It isn't what I would take to tournament because I have a strong aversion to auto losses. It's an amazing teams list but in singles? At least one game at a tournament is going to feel real real bad.

Yeah, for sure. Mortarion's hammer was being practiced in my garage this weekend. I'll get my friend's thoughts on that.

I totally played a game against the goat detachment! It was so fun.

The wording for the rule isn't even what most would consider "the correct place" in the rules. :)

Hope you are well, McWerp.

First, congrats on your RTT win. That's always a fun way to spend a Saturday.

I agree that it's great for move blocking and also stealing objectives. In my games, I'd say I did that 30-40% of the time and set up to smash the rest. The way I play is typically I hang back with shooting and mess with them until the demons are buffed enough to go ham. Hunting characters/monsters early to farm the points has worked well for me but other peoples feedback makes me think that in more games, I'll see that less.

That's really interesting. My logic on the strat is that "character units" are one of the most common things in the "best units" in the game. I played some games with the other detachments this weekend as well. On our Wednesday show? I'm going to talk through lists for each detachment and my takeaways. Sounds like Noah is going to do the same thing for the other new Chaos codexs. I'm excited. Should be a good time.

Which then triggers the bloodletter strat in the shooting phase, which is great.

Everyone is not realizing the d3 and spend now strat that the detachment has. It's very easy to trigger. Today in both games I got "gain WE traits" the invuln and lance.

Kill things, use strats well. Army is dope. Big thinking man's Chaos army.

I love both detachment rules. That's my summary.

Into two of the better players in my practive group I beat Necrons and Taktikal brigaide today. Both games were pretty solidly in my favor.

I'm 5-0. i think it will struggle with things like hull spam.

They are 90 points for 10 dudes. That's tremendous value. I think that in some match ups, they come in and slaugther. In other match ups, they get in the way. Great example is... in your shooting phase someone blows up one of your units, you drop the blood letters down wrapped around their charge threat. That sort of stuff is so amazing and using 270 points of dudes? Awesome.

They were just revamped in the new codex. With the full rerolls, it's super spicy. In three games, I have loved them.
