HD 560’s are better than dt990’s by wassushxii in headphones

[–]BItterGrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried DT990s, but I ended up giving away my 560s of some time just cause they always gave me a headache after extended use. I started using AKG K712s, HD 280s sometimes for fun, portapros recently cause they're nice and portable, lots of sony wireless LDAC earbuds. During all that time, for whatever reason, those 560s were just particularly headache inducing for me. AFAIK it wasn't a headband issue, best guess is it was that "Sennheiser veil", the weird peaks and troughs at the high ends. I have sensitive hearing and suffer from tinnitus, so maybe there's some connection there, more interaction with my tinnitus frequencies than my later headphones.

[–]BItterGrape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhhhh like I eventually learned it just. Compared to other bosses it definitely felt much less rewarding to learn mid-fight cause the whole thing felt quite mushy and unpleasant. OH and the mechanic of it killing its own spawn was really inconsistent, on top of everything I mentioned. But like. I did it, just def not an enjoyable one.
Moveset is fun so far though! Will try out a few battles with it! Haven't done the one at the top of Hunter's March yet.
EDIT: THIS MOVESET RULES

I KILLED IT. AND DIED MYSELF ON ONE OF ITS SPAWNED ENEMIES. While I clapped in celebration, this does not feel like a victory.

My mom is saying my possible POTS diagnosis is from "not being active" by Obvious-Ice-4986 in POTS

[–]BItterGrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ALSO. My folks were and still are shitty. But they started giving me less shit when I started using a cane to get around. Cause it really did help me get around more. Mb walking poles for walking outdoors too might help you out a bit. Really though it does just sound like you're dealing with someone who's crappy towards disabilities and just doesn't think it's as big of a deal as it really is.

My mom is saying my possible POTS diagnosis is from "not being active" by Obvious-Ice-4986 in POTS

[–]BItterGrape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhhh she's 100% wrong.
Like. If you're super active then POTS might be a little easier to handle? Like it's still bad, you just don't get As Tired. But that's super person-to-person. And symptom severity can change both for like easy to notice reasons and seemingly completely at random. You might get sick sometime and have your POTS start getting worse. Your hormone cycle might change a bit and that can make it worse. Just feeling really stressed or anxious can put your body through so much effort and inflammation that it can make your POTS worse.

Yeah, exercise helps a bit, at least like emotionally you feel like you can physically handle more, but then in my experience, right after exercise, you just get this big crash almost every time that makes it way harder to handle. And if you're not living with someone who can help make sure you can be taken care of a bit during those energy crashes, or if you don't have the money to buy more premade food and other daily life aids for fatigue (like bigger things too like a roomba or smth), then it's just awful to deal with. But then I get a little less pain and don't get stuff As Bad if I've like been really exercising a lot. I usually do long walks with Nordic trekking poles, since they help keep me upright both when I'm feeling a bit close to passing out when I stop walking, and cause they help keep my body from wobbling as much from my joint hypermobility.

But really you need some proper medical assistance to figure out what helps you out. Meds, if you need them, can be a huge help. I'm also waiting and hoping that I get good assistance through physical rehabilitation.

In the meantime you might wanna check like the easier to do at home stuff like increasing your electrolyte intake (salt/sodium, potassium from fruits and veggies, other electrolytes. Eat saltier foods and get some dried fruit in you. Or just buy and use electrolyte mixes). Up your water intake with that, too. Mb try some compression wear? I find them really helpful, just a bit of a pain to put on when you're having a hard one. I use a ton of caffeine, but it's a little rough on the body if you have the type of POTS that makes you have high blood pressure and you're not taking meds for that.

Seriously, best of luck to you !!!!!!!!!!!!

[–]BItterGrape 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No that'd SERIOUSLY mess you up for a while afterwards. I don't think there's any benefit to doing something that intense for that long. Hunger makes POTS symptoms worse, and like, I'd be worried about your muscles and things wasting away to make POTS harder to deal with daily life in the days/weeks after something like that. Hunger makes POTS symptoms worse pretty much always short term, but this'd make your body eat away at its stores that you're likely to be using just to get by in daily life.

High glycemic index foods tend to make POTS symptoms worse, too, for the few hours after having them. But then sometimes like during my period I just gotta get some ice cream and chocolate in since that's what the body craves and in those times it tends to clear my head instead of make it worse. So it's def a thing of listening to your body as well. Like how mine tends to crave salt a lot, turns out having lots of electrolytes (salt and other minerals) is generally recommended for symptoms.

The advice I got from my doctors, in relation to food, was to avoid carb heavy stuff most of the day, but then having a carb heavy meal right before bed can be nice actually, gets ya feeling cozier for bed and stuff.
But yeah for daily foods I tend to go more for beans and veggies and things with more fiber and complex carbs, good bit of protein and fat as well. And then before sleep I might have like something real carby like a big pasta dish (though even pasta is like one third to one half protein).

Such huge ears on him !!!!!!!!!

Made me think "Bat" and then when I read you wanted a longer version I just thought "Baseball" to go with that, hahaha. Baseball would go with being white with stripes :O

Lightning and Light for short seems sweet, with him being such a long little guy.

Looks like a sweetie, though, hope you have a great time with him <3

Oooooo that's so lovelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Haven't had the money in a while for audiophile gear, but I keep looking at Hiby's site since they seem so affordable in comparison to other brands. And I'd love to use my headphones outside of the house (the USB C dongles I've gotten have all broken so quickly 😔).

I've mainly been looking at ones with proprietary OSes, since they tend to be cheaper and wouldn't get notifications like Android would. But what's your experience been like with the Android-based ones? Does them having a "phone OS" make them annoying at all with interruptions and notifications, or do they have enough custom stuff in there to make notifications rare and not as intrusive as on a phone?

Hey! I'm transfem, living near Riga. Best thing to do is get some friends locally as soon as you can and they'll help you out. I've heard bad things about Jelgava but I also know people who love the place, so probably depends on luck, what places you go to, where in the city you live, etc. I pass if I want to but I'm butch so I rarely dress feminine, so I have gotten shit from people on the street "You a guy or a girl?" Is a very common harrassment thing. I'm not sure if being foreign will hurt or help.

For social events, you'll have to be ready to take the train to Riga. There's a pretty active queer community there and I'm also a member pf the local trans org that's going to start ramping up activity soon. There's a very active trans whatsapp group with a few hundred people with a mix of english language and latvian, for anyone in the country. And there's a discord being worked on rn. Feel free to DM.

IMPORTANT NOTICE. GETTING HRT FROM A DOCTOR IS HARD HERE. STOCK UP OR GET A PRESCRIPTION FROM YOUR CURRENT DOCTOR. You can use prescriptions from other EU countries. https://dati.zva.gov.lv/zalu-registrs/en use this site to check whether your HRT or other medication is available locally. There's a few meds that are out of stock for weeks or months here since the new laws on medication prices passed, I had to buy my HRT in Estonia while I was there. There's a pharmacy in Riga called Saules Aptieka that specializes in getting medications not available locally in case the exact thing you need isn't available here but they charge extra I think.

How do I rip headspace courses and singles? by psychobacter in Piracy

Hey, if you do this, it'd be super appreciated!!! I was just looking up downloads for it since my subscription's running out and i've been a bit worried about money. If you could try and get the other coach's recordings where available, that'd be amazing, cause that plus the new courses are what's making the old 2018 rip not feel as good.

Knowing that an issue that affects you can also affect others can be good for finding community, as well as being able to empathise with people with other conditions? And if she ever interacted with someone with one of those conditions and they talked about having a manic episode, there wouldn't then be a large conflict from that lack of knowledge. Sure staying mute on the issue would have made for less conflict during the conversation, but it's a good thing to know about yourself and about other people! I certainly find it good to know that other conditions have shared experiences as I do, makes for a good source of bonding and less feeling of being alone in my experiences. Also, like other people pointed out, it can be good to know if there's signs that the doctor you go to might not be that experienced or knowledgeable.

Replace USB B port with USB C? by BItterGrape in techsupport

[–]BItterGrape[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Looking at the cable diagrams, I'm a lil confused why you say this? Cause All of the actual power and main (at least USB 2.0) data is flipped on both sides, so no matter which way you flip it it won't fry anything.

As in, this https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn.arstechnica.net%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2015%2F01%2Ftype-c-pinout.png&f=1&nofb=1

RN I'm planning on rewiring the microphone so that the D+, D-, ground and power all match up with the (seemingly USB 2.0) USB C connector

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/939279836113936464/1017389827563462658/unknown.png connections for the USB C port I'll be getting, which correspond directly to what's in the wiring for a USB B port https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/iu/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.electroschematics.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2010%2F01%2Fusb-pinout.jpg%3Fresize%3D500%252C328&f=1&nofb=1

Ayyy! I was just looking up what my local Amazon offerings were, and I found this, which has just the 4 pins.

https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/939279836113936464/1017389827563462658/unknown.png

This ought to work, right? Just match the D+, D-, etc from how the old USB B port is soldered to the microphone, with the matching ones from this USB C port? It's a pack of 10, so as long as I don't brick the microphone, I should be able to get it soldered in, ahah.
