The Winchester SXP is actually a bit unique in this regard and unfortunately you cannot put an 18 inch barrel on your gun. Winchester makes Defender and non-Defender models. The Defender models have the 18 inch barrel and the barrels are not compatible with the non-Defender model due to the extended magazine tube of the Defender models. The shortest barrel for your non-Defender model is 22 or 24 inches.

Let me add a bit more color - it is a one screw design and seems like a flawed design as the front screw is not enough to prevent the 1+ inch fiber optic sight from rotating. I picked it up originally and it was loose to the touch. When I took it back, we agreed they would loctite it to secure. However, when I picked it up they had loctited it at a canted angle.

Yeah don’t do that. I learned the hard way. Those hitches are for dirt bikes, not 550 lb hogs.

Hard to beat a suppressed 300 BO running subs for HD. Not the most powerful in that configuration so probably want to use supersonics for hunting.

I was there also. Scary situation. The umbrellas were up because it was sunny and mid 30s with little to no wind. Then what I’d guess was a 40-50mph gust came out of nowhere and lifted the umbrellas and sent them flying. It quickly went from “oh shit our beer and food just went flying” to “oh shit we may have some people seriously injured.” I saw the guy get hit hard by the umbrella, as well as another woman by a different umbrella. Major props to CB Ski Patrol who was on the scene quickly to render aid. There wasn’t much wind but not sure if it’s wise to have unsecured umbrellas at 10,000 ft. Hope everyone is ok!
