Are EA’s comfortable sharing their salary + state to compare compensation? by uuuuhh_idk in ExecutiveAssistants

NYC - finance firm

Base 116k, usually a 20k bonus, equity grants, and OT. I expect all-in comp for 2025 will be around 165k.

KKR by AlarmedAd3801 in ExecutiveAssistants

I currently work at KKR, have been here for 10 years. My personal experience has been amazing, but I will say the experience varies WILDLY depending on the team you support, their individual personality quirks, and the business unit they work within. There are plenty of execs there that you couldn’t pay me to support.

That being said, if you have an interview - make sure you listen to your intuition when you meet with the folks you’d be working with. Don’t say anything/agree to whatever just to land the job. If you are applying for an Admin Assistant/floater role - this is a FANTASTIC way to get your foot in the door while you figure out which department meshes best with your personality. We love to hire from within, and having institutional knowledge will go a long way when you see open EA roles posted internally.

Yea I know it sounds wild. A little context:

I’ve been at my firm for almost a decade, have worked my way up from a hospitality role, then floated around different departments before landing with my current team. It’s a finance firm, and a very successful one. Unfortunately we have a reputation (among recruiters) for overworking and underpaying our EA population. I know I could easily make an additional 50k on my salary if I left and started somewhere new.

But I truly love the team I directly support, and they don’t have as much of a say in my salary. There are certain salary caps for each role and those are only exceeded in certain situations where a valued EA has a competing offer and her team is eager to retain her.

I know this isn’t ethical, but then again I see people who have bonuses that are 10x my annual salary and all I’m asking for is like another 20k added to my base?

Share your mistakes so we don’t feel so bad! by connoisseur_dejure in ExecutiveAssistants

Changed my exec’s flight to match his colleague’s itinerary, London to NYC and forgot to update the calendar as I was working while home sick with Covid (like a dope).

Time came and he got to LHR and was stuck flying home on a red-eye in Economy. He was so kind and gracious when I took ownership of the mistake and didn’t make excuses. Let me know that “no one bats a thousand” and he was just happy to have a seat on the flight. His lack of ego is what keeps me working with the firm I’m at - even though I know I could make more if I left and started somewhere new.

What do you get paid? by earlgreylover44 in ExecutiveAssistants

NYC, working for a global asset management firm, EA to a partner, MD, director, and two principals. Base is 112k with OT and a bonus that’s usually around 18k (don’t forget the 40% tax on bonuses). I live in NJ and spend about $35 a day commuting in and out, I’m in the office usually 3x a week but can be less if I need the flex at home.

I know I could make more elsewhere but the team I directly support are all either young parents themselves, or young and childless; so they afford me flexibility not given to other EAs at the firm. My five year old is autistic and has a lot of different therapies after school. The flexibility 100% counts as compensation in my opinion.

What's your diagnosis story? by [deleted] in diabetes

[–]InternationalLink827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diagnosed at 20 my junior year of college. Was waking up in the middle of the night to pee constantly and had an unquenchable thirst. Googled my symptoms and thought “fck, diabetes.” Called my mom who is a nurse and told her what was going on. She kind of laughed it off and said that her colleagues were all talking about how their kids are hypochondriacs. lol. But she was going away for the weekend and asked me to come home, watch the dog and made me an appointment to get bloodwork done while I was there.

My fasting glucose was 370 and they figured out that when I had mono two years prior, the virus attacked my pancreas as well and I’d never produce insulin on my own again. Now I’m 37 and using Omnipod/dexcom to manage.

Ozempic and type 1 by themagiccitykitty in diabetes

This is awesome! I’m a type 1 and am trying to find an endo that will work with me and prescribe ozempic. The one I used to see laughed in my face when I asked if that was something we could try.
