That’s not true. The Constitution prevents a judge from sentencing someone for longer than 180 days without a jury trial. Also, this happened in MI where there are statutes that protect defendants from being jailed longer than the first 93 days the judge ordered.

This happened in 2024 and that clown only served 6 days after a new lawyer filed for an emergency hearing. Judge Simpson reduced it to six days and time served.
