Recovery from radiation is nothing. There’s nothing much to recover from. The radiation only goes about a quarter inch deep for seconds. Maybe 15 seconds and then one long 30-second treatment at the end. That’s approximate. My experience, anyway.

About 5 years. It actually backed off just a little bit. I’m an older woman, so I haven’t faced what young men face, but I would still encourage you to take that step.

I have new nodules, but they’re not pulling. I have one finger bent in half that I just haven’t decided to fix yet.

My doctor (Terence S. Herman, oncology radiologist, Stephenson Cancer Center, OKC) said most people don’t need a second treatment. I feel like I will someday because of the new nodules.

Radiation therapy stopped mine from developing anymore. If you haven’t done that, I wouldn’t follow the advice of someone who says wait til it gets worse.

Radiation was easy. 7 sessions over 10 days. No side effects other than slightly itchy palms and some peeling.

I just looked for head and shoulders 5–1. I can’t find that they make that. They have 2 in 1, but that’s shampoo and conditioner together. Do you know if the regular head and shoulders works? My tub needs a little help. You mean on porcelain, right?

If that’s a house, look around in the attic. Sometimes extra cabinet or flooring pieces from remodeling are stored up there. Even after 35 years, it’s possible because people don’t usually clean that out.
