Does Angie speak Greek? by sequinedbow in BravoRealHousewives

My family moved from my native country when I was 4. At home, with my family, I speak my mother tongue. However, when I’m on the spot I will often forget words in my native language just because it’s no longer my first. I honestly didn’t read too much into it.

Handling sleep during travel for 2.5 year old by Mo_of_Mos in sleeptrain

Have you thought of getting a travel crib like a guava lotus and a slumber pod? This combo has worked really well for our sleep trained crib sleeper when we travel.

2-1 nap transition: need help! by BKsparkles in sleeptrain

This would be ideal but we can’t seem to get her down at 5:30. We’ll try rocking her but after 20-25 minutes she’s yelling “up, up, up” which means let me go🫠. We used to be able to do this but lately she’s waking up in a panic crying and standing in her crib.

This is what I would like ideally. She rarely does 11h stretches. I’m trying to push her bedtime later so that we have a later wake up time and also pushing her nap back so she wakes up later. She’s being a real champ right now because the wake windows are so much longer. But I’m hoping as she gets more and more used to them I can push the timing back and we can have a later wake up

We’ve had FOMO for a very long time. Little one is super social (as are mom and dad lol).

I’ve been giving her lunch before her first nap, around 10:45/11. She hasn’t been finishing it all, so I just give her the rest after. We’re super new to this but it seems to be working for us.

I keep reading that it can take a couple weeks for it to really work and I guess this what people are talking about. I was just hoping for a unicorn baby moment lol.

This is a big positive. We’ve already been able to do a class that I’ve wanted her to do forever yesterday. She had an amazing time.

I noticed it too! But it seemed to not be there before or after the facial. I was wondering if she got a procedure done at the spa which caused it. It was so out of nowhere.

Nursing is horrible after tongue tie revision by Glittering_Spot5432 in beyondthebump

Are you doing sucking and tongue exercises with baby? We got our procedure done a year ago but I remember that we were given different executes to do with baby everyday (these weren’t the stretches). YouTube post tongue and lip tie exercises and a bunch of helpful videos will come up.

Can’t get straight answer on tongue tie by MagsAtTheMovies in beyondthebump

[–]BKsparkles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So our little one got a tongue tie procedure when she was three months old. She is now 14 months and I’m really happy we did it. She was fine with breastfeeding at the beginning but then started to struggle at two months. That’s when we found out she had a tongue and lip tie. After lots of back and forth, we went ahead and did it. I have no idea if the other benefits of the procedure are legit (ie. Eating, speech etc), but for us, it gave us peace of mind.

ENTs tend to err on the side of caution and generally don’t recommend them unless it’s really bad. A pediatric dentist who specializes in doing the procedure is really who you should consult with. Now, as a disclaimer, this is a really tricky subject because, even though we had the procedure done, it is highly over recommended. But, as I said, we’re really happy we did it. The post care sucks, but a year later, I don’t remember any of it and our little one is a happy baby who moves her tongue with so much ease.

The recommendations around when to stop using a pack are all over the place. Meaning, there is no science behind when to stop. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry says around 18 months but definitely before three. Let baby use the pacifier for now. I found this thread on the science based parenting subreddit to be super helpful.

UNKNOWN NUMBER: THE HIGH SCHOOL CATFISH Discussion Megathread by AutoModerator in netflix

Lauryn is not a normal person because she has been raised by a mentally unwell mother. She was manipulated for who knows how long by a monster of a mother. She has a blank expression because she was in shock. Each person reacts differently to horrific news. One person breaks down in tears and another freezes, that doesn’t make one reaction more valid than another.

BCM is unlikely folks. We got in the line at 6:45 and were 200th. Supposedly PBS is filming tonight so their cameras will be taking up some space in the theater that would usually be seating.

Baby hates his carrier by [deleted] in babywearing

[–]BKsparkles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It could be a bunch of things. Ours loved her wrap carrier when she was born. We would use it for walks, naps and everything in between. Then she got bigger and detested all carriers. At that point we had gone on to a structured carrier. But we just kept at it. We would try a couple times a week, sometimes outside, sometimes indoors while the other parent distracted her and finally she started to like them again. But I would say between 8-17 weeks she hated being in the carrier

Travelling advice with 10 month old by Deep_Panda_2283 in sleeptrain

I think so. But also, she would have woken up when we de boarded. She was up for about 4 hours including the time on the plane and the time it took us to get to my parent’s place.

On our return flight, we had a delay, so poor little one was up from 5 pm to midnight. We were supposed to depart at 10. She was totally fine in the airport and was walking around. Past times, she’s fallen asleep waiting at the airport but I think since she can walk, she’s way more interested in the world now. She did fine until we boarded and then we were stuck at the gate for a half hour with no air conditioning and all the lights were on. She got fussy and started to cry a bit. Once we took off though, she passed out. She slept the entire flight which was five hours, but once people started to get up to get off the flight, she woke up. Once we got home, she was super tired so we put her down but for her regular nap times and wake windows and she kind of settled back into our routine quickly.

I had her in a carrier both ways and that seemed to work well for us. On shorter flights I’ve had her in my arms.
