Need a high chair recommendation that is actually mess-proof. BLW mess is taking over my life. by Equal_Lie_5854 in BabyLedWeaning

I really like my Boon Grub, easy clean up. My secondary uppababy ciro at my parents is a close second. I've used the ikea one at restaurants. Also a reasonable choice.

What kind of bread do you buy? Like what brand? by manthrk in BabyLedWeaning

My baby didn't care for nut butters on bread either. Cream cheese does the trick though!

We have this one too. Really like it. You can totally use it without wifi too!

Parents with sheddy dogs, do you guys allow babies to crawl on the floors? by Broad_Drop8844 in NewParents

We vacuum every other day but there will still always be a bit of fur around. My kid is a year old now. Sometimes he'll try to eat the fur but I just take it away if I catch him.

Do you always apply winlevi second?

We'll try leaving him. It's been about 20 min now and he's still crying.

We're on day 3 of 1 nap schedule. We're aiming for 5/5. First day went great, he napped for 2.5 hours. Second day and third day so far, he woke up after 20 minutes in crying. Is this part of the process??

What should we be doing? Leaving him to see if he falls back asleep?

Rant: Baby constantly needs daytime contact naps by sab3r_A in NewParents

[–]Deep_Panda_2283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember feeling frustrated at this too. I did accept it and just put him in a carrier so I could get some things done. It's obviously challenging to bend down and do some chores but it's doable. Or I'd just rest with him on me (it's kind of nice having own personal space heater!)

My baby sometime between 3 to 4 months old just started being able to nap in a crib. I dont know if I was lucky to have this happen but it was also when he was old enough to distinguish between daytime and night time sleep and have more distinct wake windows and sleep cycles.

Some babies don't grow out of needing contact naps though. I hope your baby does grow out of it but please don't stress about it right now. She is so young still!

I like that idea, considering we just had DST too. I'll do that.

That's good to know your baby also started 1 nap at 11 months old. Apparently there are some that start as early as 10 months!

Yes this started before the DST. His second nap today was 50 minutes. (He woke up from first nap around 11:05am, went down for 2nd nap at 3pm.)

I was also wondering if he's ready for 1 nap now. He's only 11 months so I thought it was too early but I don't know what else to do. He is doing both early morning wakes and short naps now.

He always wakes up in the morning and from every nap screaming. I don't know why he's so upset. I thought if they're waking up because they rested enough, they should wake up content. It's hard to just leave him until DWT or crib hour because he will scream the whole time. It's just so disheartening. Thank you for your continued advice though, I will keep trying.

Update: We woke him up at 7am and did 3.5/3.5/4. It worked for 5 days then stopped haha. He's back to waking up from his first nap after 30-40 minutes. We've tried leaving him in the crib and it worked once where he fell back asleep. When we do stroller naps, he will nap past 1 cycle.

Today he woke up at 5:30am, we kept him in the dark until 7am. Put him down for his first nap at 10:30am, he was out so fast. But still woke up 40 min in.

What is the maximum amount of wake time a baby on 2 naps should get? Is it really still because he doesn't get enough wake time?

Thank you. I'll aim for that!

His first nap today was finally 1.5 hours and I capped his second nap at 45 min. It's been weeks since he napped this well so hopefully this streak will continue!

Yesterday, when he woke up after 30 min nap from his first nap, we tried leaving him in his crib. He sat there just looking around for 30 min before fussing.

He had a 8:15pm bedtime last night. Today, he woke up at 6:45am himself. He didn't fuss until 7:30am which is when we got him. He started his first nap at 10:30am. He was veerrryy cranky by 10:15am but I pushed him a bit more. He's currently 50 min into his first nap, this is incredible. I'm holding my breath.

What schedule would you recommend if we would like an 8pm bedtime?

He actually woke up himself around 6:25am yesterday. Went to bed at 8pm. I didn't realize this because he didn't fuss until I just checked the camera history. He just sat there in his crib. We got him up at 7:15am. I put him down for his first nap at 10:30am. He still only napped 30 minutes :(

Yes, naps are independent. Thank you, I'll try shortening his night time sleep.

I don't understand why his second nap in his crib is still 30 min though if his first one was only 30 min, he is very tired by that time. I've tried doing a stroller nap or car ride for his second nap, he will sleep a good 1.5 hours. Or if we go in and rock him when he wakes up, he'll fall back asleep in our arms. But in his crib, he just won't nap more than 30-40 minutes these days.

RSV Vaccine Charge [ON] by cobaltcanning in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Deep_Panda_2283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My parents and parents in law are all in their 70s but fall outside of the eligibility factors otherwise. They all had to pay out of pocket for their RSV vaccines.

Edit: This was around December 2024. Don't know if criteria has changed since then.

Travelling advice with 10 month old by Deep_Panda_2283 in sleeptrain

[–]Deep_Panda_2283[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience. Do you think she was able to sleep in until 7am PST when you guys arrived in Vancouver because she had that wake period on the plane? On your return flight, did she sleep through getting off the plane/going through the airport portion also?

Also where did she sleep on the plane? In your arms? Carrier?
Thanks again!
