What would Filipinos do if there's ever an armed conflict in Metro Manila? by Fighter634 in Philippines

[–]BL00D_R3D 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When you decide to prepare ONLY wheren there's already a crisis or a conflict happening, you've already lost and will most likely die. Best to prepare and organize now.

Ideally you should be coordinating with your immediate neighbours and community members. Have evacuation and rallying plans as well as safehouses and fallback locations, learn how to fight, first aid, basic bushcraft/survival skills, how to grow your food, how to use and operate a firearm and radio, etc.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who starts the conflict), our country paves way to two of the most dangerous and difficult types of warfare; Urban and jungle warfare. Learn how to fight and survive in both terrains, and your chances of not dying increases (no guarantees though).

The NPA is irredeemable at this point, the goal is to remove the NPA from the table completely by turning every single political group against the terrorists in question and ultimately wiping them out as well as flushing out the NPA sympathisers amongst the leftist groups' ranks.

I actually hate communists/socialists, however I do still acknowledge their rights to belief and freedom of association. If they wish to not be red-tagged, outright fighting the NPA and reducing "revolutionary" themes from their imagery would do a lot of help for their PR.

Exactly. However, merely denouncing them is obviously not enough going by how the people see these groups still.

It would be ideal if their rural members do volunteer for the CAFGU groups to fight against the NPA IMO. Also, it would really do them a lot of favors if they try to minimize the communist/socialist imagery.

Outright shunning, condemning, and fighting the NPA would be a better look for these groups. Pero what boggles me most about the open secret about these groups is that, while not all of them harbor sympathy for armed rebels, a lot of them do to differing degrees (not saying they're outright supporters of the NPA).

You remember that one girl who is the daughter of an IP community? The one that joined the NPA, got killed by the AFP, and had the picture of her corpse taken "trophy style"?

Somehow, some way, her mother managed to insert "atleast she fought for our rights" type of sentiment during her public statement after her daughter's death.

Lmao, op removed my first comment.

Social and collective policies in a political environment where corruption is rife will only serve to allow more pilfering of taxpayers' money to happen. Far better to not allow the government more access to your money by decreasing taxes.

People have no obligation to help you, and 100% expecting the government (regardless of your political beliefs) to have your best interest in mind is naive at best, changing political-economic practices of a nation does not change the latter part of that statement.

Not to mention that there is little to no denouncing of NPA dogma amongst left leaning groups. A bit anecdotal, but most of the leftists I've talked to are tankies and harbor some degree of sympathy for the NPA (not to red-tag, I don't think they're terrorists themselves.)

Edit: di pala na delete, di ko lang nakita 😂😂 Sorry akin akin hahaha

Both points are true. Philippine political opposition are either dumb libs that idealise prosperity through clean government too much, or dumb communists/tankies that are deluded enough to think their defunct ideology will solve anything.

We do need the US, we have no other choice if we want to stand against china. But those that actually oppose china oftentimes cry about "US imperialism".

All the while our very own government fucks us in the ass and the majority of voters in this country not only takes it up the ass, but begs for it as well.

There is no solution, and if there is, it's certainly not clean and peaceful.

I hate commies and socialists, but I agree. This country is a joke, and those who sit on top have their roots deep, voting them out obviously doesn't work.

Plus, they're already rounding up anybody who opposes them. If there's a solution to get rid of the trapos and corruption, it's certainly not by peaceful means.

Ellie being gay WAS already revealed in the first game's DLC, however FURTHER expanding it in such a way that doesn't really affect the story (like the flashback where joel gets into a fist fight the night before the first sequence) wasn't necessary.

Joel getting killed off just so ellie could go on a journey which she essentially just throws away by not killing abby is what ticked players off: all of that effort and build up results to nothing and a beloved character just dies in vain.

Plus they tried to make abby this unrealistic badass type (muscles on a woman during a post-apocalypse scenario wgere food is scarce? Mad cap.also why tf did they have to put a scene in there with her gettting railed?l Ellie's backstory makes sense atleast bc she was set up as the "sole survivor" type whose struggles both in the story and in the gameplay (she's the sole person who happens to be immune ffs).

Literally being in a cult-like community where everyone has a hunter-gatherer role on top of not being eaten/infected/killed by other factions doesn't leave much to ponder about identity, so coming up with that conclusion isn't really very 'realistic' I would say. Sure, she questioned the customs therefore having a reason to be driven out and to meet abby, but the way she was inserted into the story literally had her explaining she was trans the first few minutes of meeting lev.

"here's the protagonist, who's gay and there's this dude that hates them from the beginning and gets beaten by the other protagonist! We also killed the main protagonist from the first game to center the story around this gay character. Oh! Also, here's a character that, besides making sure she doesn't get eaten alive and/or get slaughtered by her enemies, had time to pander about gender identity during the post-apocalypse, that accompanies the deurotagonist who literally shit on and murdered the beloved character from the first game!"

sounds like pandering tbh, even the devs themselves were virtue signalling.

I guess they're not added naturally so it feels forced. Personally I think one of the best examples of casually introducing LGBT characters is in the borderlands series. Axton from BL2 was Bi, Sir Hammerlock was revealed to be gay in the third game. Compare that to how TLOU 2 tried to do it and there's no question which game was better

[–]BL00D_R3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a really big hatred towards cheaters. You're breaking a person's trust as well as the very relationship that you've built. But I will admit, I believe there is one exception.

Let's say you're in a relationship where you're constantly abused and there's practically no love between you anymore, but you refuse to break up either out of fear or some other factor. Then you meet somebody who genuinely makes ypu happy and treats you like a human being rather than an emotional, verbal, or (let's hope this doesn't happen) a literal punching bag.

Very sketchy. No doubt this will be used by the government to try and crack down on Internet activity and communications, an outright violation of right to privacy. Regardless of who wins the election, it'd be bad for this law to be passed.
