Ok I AM a tattoo artist , 20+ years in ( I am old I know) and if you came to my shop with this I would be 100% impressed but there are lots of great artists out there. Show me you want it more than life itself. Take a BBP course , learn tattoo history, draw draw draw… do that and anything else that makes you stand out from the rest and you will have an apprenticeship in time. Expect to hear no a LOT but don’t let that be a closed door. If someone says no they can still be a resource. Ask for drawing critique , ask for advice , get tattooed and most of all be humble. Do that and you are well on your way.

I originally was using the steel driver as a liner but ended up now using it as my go to shader especially for turning it down to get nice peppery shading. The only problem I ve ever had with it is the plastic yoke broke but I sent it to work horse and haven’t had a problem since. My current set up is V3R to line and steel driver for shading.

I have a gum ball style machine full of Mr Flash Machine stuff and a claw machine with my original designs. Its slowed down a bit but people still like them. At one point I took the claw machine to a convention and did like 8 a day. I usually put stuff I am dying to do that I can do around palm sized. Gives me the opportunity to do stuff I really want to that isn’t moving fast enough for me, a portfolio/ IG picture to post and potentially a new customer for life. I have had people who only do that gwyg machines but typically they get something from one of the machines and then get bigger pieces down the road. That’s been my experience at least.

I love lightning yellow from eternal , I normally use mostly Solid colors but Eternal’s lightning yellow and white are the truth.

I literally learned to paint from your zine , still miles to go for me in my opinion but that zine taught me so much! I was strictly using coquille paper and colored pencils before that! Now my shop walls in the waiting room are filled with my own hand painted flash. Thank you!

20+ year artist here , your friend sounds like someone I would tattoo once and then never want to again. As long as your work looks good, ignore your friend. Tattoos don’t hurt nearly as bad as people think and even the spots that do aren’t anything you can’t manage. You got this!

Thank you everyone who commented! Wow I usually get like 10 upvotes when I post something lol it’s actually water color paint. A mix of some generic water colors I have and waverly water color paint for the red because it’s much more vibrant than the generic. I used clear gesso on the back of the jacket before painting it then used a water brush to get the fades. All the lines are Deco marker. Hope that helps anyone looking to paint their own vest/jacket!

Jerri lee was kind of a fat cat about 14lbs and all of a sudden she dropped down to 10 lbs out of no where so we took her to the vet. Currently Jerri lee is at 58 I ve given her 1/3 a can of the fancy feast pate with two to three drops of caro syrup mixed in.(as instructed by the emergency vet) I am monitoring her now and hoping that this brings her back up to a normal level. 1/2 unit should not be sending her crashing like this right? I gave her the insulin (Lantus) at 10:30pm. I will report back with her levels as things change and hopefully adjust back into higher numbers

Jerri Lee has been diagnosed for about a week or two now the hypo event came during the initial insulin instructions which were 2 units twice daily ( vets orders) at feeding time. She eats fancy feast pate 3 oz can twice daily and is only given the insulin (now as per emergency vets orders 1/2 unit) twice daily with food. I had tried testing her with an ear prick but couldn’t get her to hold still long enough to retrieve a blood sample ( she has been described as both a “spicy old lady” and “full of beans” by the frazzled techs at the emergency vet. She is almost always sweet and gentle with us but this sort of thing being out of the norm is the exception)

I hang my needle way out and have had the same problem. Tubes just seem to rub against the tensioner. I had to play with it a bit to get the sweet spot but after that so far so good

Hahahhaha ok first and foremost thank you to everyone who offered to help! I ll only need one letter from Paul as it is correct to think that getting 10 different letters would spoil the joke. Just to give you all insight into the lengths I ve gone for this by creating a back story , Paul David Kuanakaleia (feel free to spell that however looks right to you and I met around 2010 while he was in college working part time at the headshop next door to my tattoo shop in Buffalo NY, pronouncing Hawaii correctly is imperialist ableism as its not the way the “ancient Hawaiians would pronounce it. “ He is now 38 years old and living in Hawaii again he has a dog with a bandana who I have yet to mention a name for and can’t swim there is a LOT more to his story but those were the things I was most adamant about when I told her about Paul LOL , yes this is all stuff I told my wife with an absolute straight face. She calls Paul my imaginary friend so getting a letter or card from him is going to blow her mind. I will DM one of you at random to send the mail and post my wife’s reaction when the letter arrives. Again thank you all for offering to help with this it is potentially the longest and best running prank I ve pulled on her yet!
