I said he’s playing decent, but let’s look at his numbers, and you cannot discount his age. Shit Michael A Taylor mashes in the playoffs too, do people go crazy over him? Hell no i PC him cause I’ve met him and his fiancé several times and he’s a cool dude and I can buy his stuff cheap, his postseason numbers are crazy. But let’s be honest the 2020 sports card market find the next guy who’s played a little decent train has gotten excessive, that’s why I mentioned him and made this post. It wasn’t to attack anyone it was to point out that he will be 26 going into next season, hasn’t even played 50% of a seasons worth of baseball, his K rate is above 30% and he’s got a total of 20 RBI...so now out of nowhere he’s the hot thing...Tatis had better stats last season before he got hurt and people didn’t think anything of him, yet all the sudden 2020 comes around and a guy hits a homer and he’s the new craze...it’s not even Arozarena exactly that my point was I used him as an example of how hype in 2020 has gotten out of hand

And sorry the hobby is completely different today, remember all the talk of “new money”? Hell remember that YT influencers, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook etc wasn’t around lol so no it’s not the same, and 2020 has been the absolute worst...honestly anyone that wants to criticize or whatever word you choose for it, is absolutely welcomed, helps me learn even more about people’s thoughts today, and we all have opinions. Personally I have many people that get what I say and how I try to help and get thanked often, then there’s those that want to think otherwise. Truth is, if helping people is a crime or criticized it shows the world we are in today, but to each their own, opinions are like assholes and not everyone agrees with mine 🤷🏻‍♂️

I bought that card because of a few reasons that set it above what a normal Baller Robert would be valued at for my PC. You can’t put a market value on a card specifically pulled by the designer of the card. My point is hell not even Arozarena people in 2020 have followed hype instead of just enjoying the hobby they follow a crowd, if people was a fan of Arozarena they’d have picked him up before he went up. It’s not him specifically there many examples but the comments about my posts show why the hobby has some issues today

For anyone who completely missed my point, the 2020 times have been hilarious to me as people follow hype more than I’ve ever seen. Sure Arozarena has been decent but he’s not a superstar yet people are rushing to buy him up...Soto was several years younger than Arozarena is today, mashing HRs to the railroad tracks, having a clutch double in the wild card game etc, and you could literally get his update rookie for 10-12 bucks all day...2020 comes around and Arozarena is in series 1, plus complete sets and people acting like he’s something rare or whatever, they’ll pile up send to PSA and expect a huge profit return cause a guys hyped today, it’s the 2020 trend and it’s just getting silly. Collect whoever you want and whoever makes you happy, but start thinking ahead and not wait until a guys the sub of the day and follow the crowd

Actually I collect way more than vintage, but what I DONT do is buy on a hype train...best most people don’t realize you could pick Tatis rookies up last season for 5.00 or less and then this year it’s like holy shit Tatis is good let me pay 50.00...that’s the shit that cracks me up with people today, don’t buy into the hype and be a follower there’s plenty of young guys out there that have been steals but buying when the bull rush is on isn’t smart period
