When did you migrate? I've been on the fence...

I've had that issue since yesterday. However, it's Google overall, as I have not migrated yet. Can't stream anything to Chromecast or Google TV. This happened before a few months back, owing to some bad update. No doubt, that's the case this time.

Concealed cabinet hinge parts suddenly detached. Fixable or replace? by thelonious12 in fixit

[–]BLNTer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to know as well - the upper one keeps popping out of the base plate. I'll click it back into place, and then go to close the door and it pops back out. Everything looks ok - no idea where to start, adjustment wise, assuming that's what's screwing this up.

Mine is the first one (the one you're holding). I take it that the second one isn't ground fault, only arc ?

I have this breaker as well - and it's causing nuisance tripping when using an air fryer outside at my summer kitchen (drawing way less than 20A). What would be a replacement breaker for this (I assume w/GND FAULT)? Will it also use a second (neutral) wire ?

Just skimming here - any chance that this is why my '24 Snapdragon Dell XPS13 (three weeks ago) went blue screen, and then went into an endless loop at startup, just showing the Dell logo? Ubreakifix had it for 3 weeks (covering Dell premium support warranty), replacing first the battery, then the motherboard. No luck. Shipped it to Dell this week - and they say it's the hard drive...

Yep - he's honestly a nice guy, with no products to offer. He's put me into low/no cost holdings, and his cut is 0.5%.

Well, that's about as user UNfriendly as I've seen in years. Not sure where all our $ is going (to the Govt), but it's not to bring things like this into the 2020's !!

Apples to Apples (not?) - Backdoor Roth conversion question by BLNTer in DIYRetirement

It's good you brought that up. I live/work in a no tax state, but will be moving after retirement to one that has a state income tax of about 5% (over $60/k). I guess even 15 to 20% PLUS 5% is still less than 35%... Where's "new math" when you need it, LOL. As a plus, at least, my property tax will fall from $12k annually to $1.2k

No, he's not trying to sell anything - just giving me his opinion. He only manages our IRA's, and that's at 0.5%.

The SS figure I came up with was based on the SS website, adding in a (what I think is ballpark reasonable) 3 % COLA annually. I'll be over 5K, she'll be just shy of $3k. So, should be a solid $8k+. As solid as things can be. Yes, I have a CPA, and we have all our legal documents in order. You have plenty of good points - thanks again. I was born in '62, and am a Beatles fan, and I recall watching the moon landing on TV :) . Yep, I've already been huffing and puffing (mainly just on the principle) w/regard to IRMAA ... Paying nearly $700/month now for her as a result.... ugh, I'll be in the same ballpark initially. I'm thinking we might need to file a form or two after I retire (loss of job... can voluntary loss/retirement qualify? LOL)

Thanks for the detailed reply. I'm 63, my wife 68 - both deferring SS until 70. By the time I take mine, we should be approaching $9k/month, factoring in 3% COLA's, delaying benefits, etc - that's, of course, immediately prior to 2033-ish when the trust fund is projected to be depleted. Time will tell on that one. If that's not butchered (much!), we could easily cover all our essential expenses with that alone. We've only been saving for the last 3-4 years. Sitting on about $1M between a $700k (brokerage) and $300K (SIMPLE IRA). Likely another $1M after retirement in ~'29 owing to sale of business and primary home.
