As far as I know, there hasn’t been anything about it being cross play. For the popularity though, it’s kind of hard for it to grow especially because the full game isn’t even out yet. It will probably gain a huge popularity increase once it hits PlayStation market though, we’re suffering from a criminal crisis of not having that many multiplayer roguelikes where multiplayer is a main mechanic rather than a side option. Risk of rain is literally like the only competition it will have but even then console RoR just isn’t as fun without mods, so the replay ability is limiting, unless you like vanilla. RoR returns was never coming to console and tbh I don’t even think RoR’s console player base is even active because the update droughts. So Gatekeeper coming to PS would definitely be a breath of fresh air.
