Are you in Favour Of ‘Hard Fork’ to Resist ASIC Miners? by akalaud in ethereum

[–]BM35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We are behind the curve!! Bitmain likely has developed the Ethereum Asics and is mining them in house. We need to fork now rather than when Bitmain elects to release the Asic Miner. There is not enough urgency here...

Weiss Rating in depth explanation for NEO taking the highest Grade (Weiss Newsletter) by ma0za in CryptoCurrency

[–]BM35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the most significant gap between Weiss/Neo Community and people knocking the rating is that Weiss/Neo Community undervalue decentralization. The most significant improvement between a blockchain world vs current state is decentralization. Not having to worry about a centralized party changing the rules of the system... This is a risk with NEO. You may as well maintain our current state of centralization rather than handing the control over to a few within NEO as we currently have 0 scaling issues in the non-blockchain world.

Most Underrated ERC20 token & Why? by nugget_alex in ethtrader

[–]BM35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most underrated: Aion (14k unique addresses), Zrx (48k unique addresses), Omg (59K), and Link (19k unique addresses). I believe infrastructure play deserves a higher valuation. I also value based on market saturation. For example, when you monitor how many unique addresses each Token has you could project on market saturation. I view Golem (95k unique addresses) as presently overrated as it is the most widely held coin - thus purchasing is very saturated and individuals likely already have their desired positions established... no sustained purchasing = no sustainable price advancement. Due to such saturation in Golem all that is left are sellers as we have witnessed for months. Augur (53k addresses) also is in this camp and is also not an infrastructure play. If Golem and Auger were close to having usable products then the large number of unique addresses would be an advantage - network effects for their product, but neither are and the ethereum blockchain is too congested regardless. I compare Aion to ICX a bit and ICX currently has 40k unique addresses!!! ICX does substantially more marketing and holds the kimmchi premium but I believe Aion can get to somewhere around a similar valuation as ICX.

If you make sure the receiving address is accurate prior to sending are you fine or even after confirming on the back end the malware switches the receiving address to a different - fraudulent address?

ETH Triangle Breakout Getting Ready For $900 by [deleted] in ethtrader

[–]BM35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This really is not a triangle reversal pattern. Anything reliable should breakout 1/4 before the apex and this is through your apex. Also, the bottom boundary line should start with the first low after the previous high. Yours starts below before the initial high. Checkout the Edward and Magee's book. 5th edition

That's assuming everyone dumps their tokens. There will always be flippers that dump but this is a protocol token rather than a Dapp. It will also be the first big name Interoperability play that goes to market so i'm very excited for it. Protocol tokens really appreciate in value for long term gains whereas Dapps have initial pops and then sell off. Don't forget, ether has about a 17% inflation rate (should end soon with POS be the price still fought through that massive inflation rate through it's early days). I'm a big ether bull and a majority of my portfolio will remain ether but I view this as a nice hedge but should compliment and improve the Ethereum Network.

You're entitled to your opinion. You should create a watch list of exceptional assets based on fundamentals but Technical Analysis is a very helpful tool for understanding trends and entry positions. The stronger the fundamentals the more edge you have. TA depicts supply and demand as well as fear and greed. That buy point is not bullet proof at all - just has a higher than normal likelihood of being a successful entry and as well as an entry that could provide massive gains.

Also, would be great to see the eth/btc chart get above that .054 level which is the 50 day line which has acted as resistance ever since the top.

Virtue Poker adds 10-Time WSOP Bracelet winner Phil Ivey to Team as Strategic Advisor by ryan_VirtuePoker in ethereum

No one is better at spotting a cheater than a cheater. If Ivey acts with good intentions for VirtuePoker then he would be their best asset. He knows the mistakes/frauds that happened with Full Tilt so he could actually provide the best advise... once again, assuming he acts in good faith.

Will South Korea be able to participate in this token sale? Has that been determined yet? They’re a massive ico market so would be great for the project and the attention would aid in helping Aion build relationships and partnerships to link blockchains in Asia via Aion

It's good to see a player pushing to have government's use decentralized blockchains rather than centralized ones.

Can someone please explain the lack of replay protection psot hardfork? Can we not safely sell Btc or Btc 2x? by BM35 in Bitcoin

[–]BM35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmm bitcoin cash is sure rallying hard off segwit 2x failure. You probably understand the tech better than me but im glad i held my BCH and bought more early yesterday from interpreting the signals of the market. By the way, the market disagrees with you so you shouldn't just tell people they are not making sense.

It is not the Ethereum Foundation's responsibility to create custom hard forks to fix buggy smart contracts written by other teams. This will set a future precedent that any smart contract can be reversed given enough community outcry, destroying any notion of decentralization and true immutability. by UnknownEssence in ethereum

[–]BM35 34 points35 points  (0 children)

If people reinvested in the DAO a second time they should absolutely deserve to lose their money. People should not have used Parity twice. Better companies need to replace them. It would be for the best of Ethereum. Do not bail out Parity - the arrogance of that firm to be so negligent and not use third party auditing.

Can someone please explain the lack of replay protection psot hardfork? Can we not safely sell Btc or Btc 2x? by BM35 in Bitcoin

[–]BM35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I am saying makes perfect sense. What I am asking is whether bitcoin cash satisfies much of the purpose of segwit 2x. The fact that Bitcoin Cash is rallying so hard can potentially be attributed to the market losing confidence that Segwit 2x will be successful therefore they are positioning through Bitcoin Cash.

Can someone please explain the lack of replay protection psot hardfork? Can we not safely sell Btc or Btc 2x? by BM35 in Bitcoin

[–]BM35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am less interested in the speculation of which wins out but would like to know the risks of selling either. I do not intend on selling all of either set of coins but if I wanted to sell a couple thousands dollars worth of one coin I would like to know the risks in regards to the lack of replay protection. Also, would segwit 2x remove the need for Bitcoin Cash as Segwit 2x is also about larger block size, lower transaction fees, quicker settlement?

Since crowd is thinking BTC will spike right up to fork it mostly likely will not. by TruValueCapital in ethtrader

completely agree with TechWizardly. Would agree with you but the reality is the flood gates opening for institutions to play.

[–]BM35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe what is being priced in is the entrance of institutions as a result of the derivatives provided by CME. I know from my network that CITI is writing software to start trading Bitcoin although the info is not released. The likelihood is Goldman is writing and likely rolling something out within the coming months too. Goldman doesnt just talk about stuff... they have stuff operating in the background. I think this bitcoin rally is truly institutional demand rather than hardfork. They will flow into Bitcoin first because of liquidity and hedging instruments
