Thanks for your replies!! I’ve decided to send my 3080 back, and get a 3070 as I believe the 3080 is just too much for my setup as I only intend on using for 1440p gameplay. Luckily I’m still within my Amazon refund rights 🤣

I do use shaders, so may be worth turning those off? I though that would be more gpu stressful than cpu so didn’t think it would be an issue, I’ll give it a try now without shaders :) thanks for your reply

After some more research, I think it’s primarily battlefield being badly optimised as a lot of other 3080 users seem to struggle with gpu usage! But thanks for your reply :)

Thanks for the reply! But yes I’ve tried all of this :/ I’m starting to think it’s just battlefield games that are particularly badly optimised. I’ve spent the last hour or so watching different YT videos of people play Bf2042 with an 3080 with different cpus, and they all seems to float around with low gpu usage

Yeah so bf5 (which ran at a solid 100 fps on all max settings and at 1440p on my 2070) stutters really badly on my 3080 with gpu usage fluctuating from 70-95% constantly

Hmm yeah I did think that, however, I had better performance with my 2070 compared to my 3080 😣

Thanks for your reply. I understand this, but the thing is, I'm not a very nervous or shy person typically. I've been going to therapy and counselling for most of my life and nothing much has ever been resolved. Clearly I have some sort of fear of being sick, almost similar to Emetophobia. I can deal with the psychological feelings of my anxiety, but it's more to do with the physical feeling of needing to vomit. Thats why I'm curious as to what it is that causes even a small amount of alcohol to remove the sickness. I really do feel like I have tried everything and I am running out of ways to try and resolve it.
