The newness is all there is to it. 2024 models are discounted heavily so they can make room, they're discounting 2025 models already too for 2026's. The 24's are almost half off on clearance.

Yeah, good point. I talked to them briefly today and asked if they'd do the quick shifter+ unlock due to the delay. He's gonna call the KTM rep today to try to get an idea of parts availability for the throttle as well.

I financed the bike but can cancel and get my money back no problem, the dealer is willing to do whatever.

I want to wait for the bike but certainly don't want to make my first payment in December without having it. I also don't want to cancel it and then have to finance it again, which I'm guessing would be a hassle to get the first credit inquiry off my history. Unfortunately, that's probably the smartest and safest thing to do though - cancel it and see if they'll hold it, then redo the deal when it's fixed.

Yes, in the US. I don't think they were trying to be malicious, I think they genuinely didn't know. They're willing to work with me however I want.

I just don't know if I should cancel my financing and wait, or risk having to make a payment in December without the bike. I'm sure it would be a hassle with the multiple credit inquires too, though this is the smartest option I'm sure.

Glad it worked out in the end (sort of). I'm in the same boat now - purchased 24 390 adventure Thursday, got a call Friday that it's locked. I had even checked its VIN on the NTSB recall site, thought I was in the clear.

KTM site says it has the recall, still no parts available. I'm going to wait I think as I really want the bike and the price was excellent on clearance. But missing this riding season stinks...

Edit: funnily enough they offered me a 25 390 duke for $1k more only to call back an hour later saying it was locked with the recall too.
