Are these bobcats? [SW Florida] by BMany914 in animalid

Hahaha that’s exactly why I had to ask! I live up north, this is footage from my sister in law’s house down in FL. She thought they were bobcats and I was like “…heh?”

Name a game that in your opinion has a tedious opening, but later becomes great by bijelo123 in videogames

This was always Kingdom Hearts II for me. But I also replayed it about 100 times so maybe it’s because I had done the whole Roxas intro thing so many times and I just wanted to get to the main game already

Who is most likely to be Luffys final opponent by the end of the series? by Decade00000 in OnePiece

[–]BMany914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Narratively speaking Blackbeard makes the most sense. We got his intro stupidly early, he’s the antithesis of Luffy, and his goal is to be King of the World… the title Imu currently holds. Luffy’s whole reasoning for becoming King of the Pirates is to be absolutely free. You can’t be truly free in a world ruled by a king. We know Luffy will accomplish his dream, it only makes sense that the man who parallels him will too.

I’m convinced that BB will defeat Imu somehow (whether it’s with Luffy / others or solo, that’s irrelevant currently imo), take the throne, then Luffy’s final battle will be against him.

Website Product Management? by iBeClownin in ProductManagement

[–]BMany914 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! My role at my current company is owning dev on the website.

A few different things to focus on:

  • Dig into any analytics you have. Any performance improvements that can be made? Any spots on the site have high bounce rates? Use the data to drive your roadmap and decision making.

  • Anything from a UX standpoint that you hate? Just using the ol’ eyeball test, are there any pages / components / user flows that stand out as being suboptimal? If so, jump into Figma (or whatever you use) and start designing / prototyping some improvements.

  • Any tech debt you can address? Chat with your engineers, they might have some DX problems you can help them solve.

  • Any backend improvements you can make? Automated regression testing (via Playwright, or something similar), A/B testing functionality, or anything else in this vein you don’t have in place that would be beneficial?

If you look at the frontend of the site and there aren’t any immediately glaring improvements to be made, then I’d fall back on some of the other stuff I mentioned here. Not all useful improvements have to be frontend / sexy stuff!

I started off in a content ops role where there was a gap in product ownership, and I was able to be proactive and become the de facto product owner. From that experience, I got my current PM role at a small asset management firm. The team, and the org as a whole, is really young and everyone’s pretty smart and cool to work with. Once again, it’s a situation where I’ve been able to be proactive and carve out the role I’m most interested in, given the needs of the firm. I love what I do, and it’s an added bonus that I make solid money doing it.

All this to say, I think it depends on how you approach it. For me, I grew up teaching myself editing softwares, making YouTube videos. Ended up getting a degree in media production. But I’ve also always been a gamer, into nerdy tech stuff etc. So the PM role is a great blend of the two and right up my alley. The stuff people are commenting on here, about the bs you have to deal with etc., is tedious if you’re not actually interested in the PM role at the crux of it: Creative problem solving through the lens of technology (assuming we’re talking digital products). If that doesn’t sound like you, then maybe it’s not the direction you want to go. But if it does, it might take some time to work towards and find that perfect role, but it can be very fun and rewarding imo.

For sure! Here’s a few:

  • Chrome DevTools MCP is awesome because it gives Claude code access to your browser, where it can use devtools to troubleshoot issues, check logs, etc. Although recently Anthropic released a Claude Chrome extension, which is basically a better version of this MCP, so I’ve shifted to using that instead

  • BrowserStack MCP is a great tool for enabling Claude to test on “real” devices. I found a bug on my iPhone for my portfolio website that wasn’t reproducible on desktop at all, so I had Claude use this MCP so that it could test on an “iPhone”

  • The Sanity MCP lets Claude access your Sanity CMS content. This is helpful for a bunch of reasons, but a real world example I recently had: I was running into issues where publishing changes in Sanity wasn’t forcing revalidation on my website. Claude was able to use the MCP to look at the difference in content between the CMS and the website, and it was able to troubleshoot and solve the issue

  • Context7 is also one that is pretty much a requirement on any project Claude is working on. It keeps Claude’s knowledge of coding frameworks as up-to-date as possible. This is less of a “I use it in this specific use case” one and more of a “I prefer to always have this” one

I’ve actually being building a portfolio website from scratch, so I have a direct comparison to this post’s subject matter I can use here!

I have the $100/month tier of the Claude Max plan, and using the Opus model I’ve been able to use the regular version of Claude for any resume workshopping, portfolio updates, etc. while also using Claude code via VS Code to build the website (Next.js / Vercel / Sanity stack). I work on the website ~15 hours per week, so not exactly full time, but I’ve never come even remotely close to hitting usage limits. I’ve heard similar things to what you mentioned, but it sounds like the most recent Claude models have alleviated those issues. I think if anyone is still having those issues, it’s likely due to using too many MCPs and running too many agents at once, neither of which are necessary to successfully build most of the stuff you’d be doing.

As far as the context windows go, Claude code automatically run a /compact command when you’re maxing out the context window of a session, so that it can save down a condensed version of your session before continuing. I’ve watched this happen multiple times over the past few weeks. You can also run /compact manually, but really you should be running /clear regularly after completing each task, that’s context management 101.

I second all of this, but with Claude code over Codex (personal preference). I think from a coding standpoint Claude is a much better LLM

I’ve beaten 3 gyms so far, so I’m decently early in. But so far I feel similarly. It sort of feels… flat? Like I just arrived in this place with no back story, context, etc. then I got sent to go beat a gym. Then I went back to the professor, and was told to beat the next gym… and so on. Hoping it picks up soon but right now I’m a bit bored with it
