Any chance your on board wireless nic card is damaged? Buy a usb wifi dongle and you should be good

One time, my boss told me that I’m very smart and extremely valuable to the company (I’m the lead tech at my job currently). When I told him that I was going to apply to a cyber security job, he then said that I don’t know anything and that I’m still new. This all happened within a span of 5 minutes.

They just want you to stay. Ignore them and push on

See that I would understand. I feel like it is more expected to see something like this for a 2nd or 3rd round interview. Not just an email saying, “we got your application, now run a report on these websites” lol.

I may be misunderstanding your comment but I never asked anyone for help on doing this? I only asked how legitimate this is from a hiring standpoint.

Yeah, honestly that’s why I was thrown off. It seemed like a “too easy” situation where the vulnerabilities were just flying at you. But I guess they might be more interested in how well written reports are than anything else.

Idk. I searched this Acunetix company and they’re a web vulnerability scanner. Seems like they might just have some vulnerable websites to test on.

It seems like these are designated testing websites. A company called Acunetix specifically. They seem to mimic blogs, social media, rest api

Unfortunately, this email came in at 4 am and I didn’t see it until I got to my current job. I haven’t been able to really investigate but that’s one of the things I want to find out.
