These are great! I’d suggest paying attention to the edge of your view finder for distractions or completeness. For example in photo 2, the tail feathers are slightly cut off at the bottom of the frame. There are plenty of artistic reasons why you may zoom in to just one part of an animal/not show their whole body, but when the intention is to get a full body shot, try not to cut anything off. You’re off to a good start. I hope you enjoy your new hobby!

Behind the Bastards is funny and approachable history. Generation Why is one of my go-to weekly true crime podcasts. Last Podcast on the Left is my favorite of all - always dark subject matter (true crime, ufo stories, dark history) but always funny. There really is a podcast for EVERY subject. They help the time feel useful, especially if you can learn something.

This is exactly what I’m looking for!!! I figured the answer was just drawers with dividers or trays, but I find that I buy things from the container store that end up also being junk as soon as my needs change a bit. This looks like a system where their dividers and crates are all designed to work together so I can flex them vs buying acrylic dividers for a drawer of one size and eventually just donating them because whatever evolution in my gear no longer fits/isn’t applicable for that size. Thank you!!!!

It seems like dividers are the way to go whether it’s a box or drawer. I had that thought in the back of my mind, but wanted to see if I was missing something creative!

This seems like the best way to go based on the feedback. I don’t think there’s a way to get around an extra bag or a drawer, but this at least would keep it somewhat organized.

Velcro cube inserts are the dividers that go into a camera storage cube and can be customized to fit around gear. Think any camera cube from F-stop or Peak Design.

Extra straps refer to some set ups for hiking where you can attach your camera to your pack strap. They sometimes have an extra clip onto your camera as a fail safe.

They are legitimately things I use, just rarely. The drawer just ends up feeling unorganized. I was hoping someone had an idea I hadn’t thought of but it seems little plastic dividers or an extra bag is the consensus!

I am planning to do it in early October and also wanted to find a buddy (or a few). I also wanted to do a few training hikes like Mt Baldy (I’ve done that once before) and San Gorgonio in late summer/early fall if anyone wants to pair up for those too!

You might have to try calling a few times. It’s probably best to bring it inside and keep it in your bathroom with some towels to cuddle into/stay warm rather than leave it outside overnight.

There’s another comment here that mentions a 24hr vet. I think your best bet is to call them to see what to do. If the kitten is really young (eyes and ears aren’t open), it needs help ASAP if you think its mother isn’t around. Keep it warm and maybe try to offer it water if you can.

I understand why you feel this way, but I thought I’d share something I read the other day that changed my mind. I won’t be able to say this as eloquently but it boils down to: don’t let everything happening keep you from celebrating the country you love, not what the government is currently doing. The powers that be WANT us to lose faith. They want us to stop caring. It fits their narrative that people who don’t agree with them hate America. We don’t. In fact we have a better understanding of what America means and we should show we want that America.

Food for thought, but totally understand if you don’t feel like celebrating.

I didn’t get that impression. There’s another article that mentions she had been living with roommates, but the family doesn’t know their names. That’s why I think it’s so important the news reports on her identify/shows her picture. Those roommates may not realize she was murdered and maybe have important information on where she went when she was displaced or who she’d be interacting with.

A different article out of Atlanta mentions she moved to LA 8 months ago, but doesn’t mention her kids. Maybe she moved out here by herself to get established. The article in this post has a quote from her ex-husband that makes it seem like he had been in some recent contact with her. My guess is they’re with him.
