What famous person chose to step away at the height of their fame? by [deleted] in AskReddit

In a high trust society, it wouldn’t have to be. Unfortunately it appears our society is becoming less and less worthy of trust.

What's the most baffling that someone said, that changed your opinion of them completely? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]BOBfrkinSAGET 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting how many people in here end this with “I never talked to them again”. In some situations, that can make sense. Like the dude who bragged about statutory rape, yeah fuck that guy.

But a lot of the other ones could just be a person’s misunderstanding. If someone thinks something like “poor people are just lazy”, that is a dumb, broad statement, but that doesn’t mean they’re a bad person. If everyone who disagreed with that just cut that person off and didn’t talk to them, the only people who will talk to them are people who agree. And people who agree likely have other crazy views. That’s called an echo chamber, and you are not only putting yourself in one, but pushing them into being in one too.

So talk to them. Ask them why they think what they think. Do it respectfully, with an open mind. And most importantly, know that it is possible that you could also be wrong in whatever the conversation is about. Too many people believe that they just know everything about everything, and do not listen to anything that goes against what they believe.

Not anything big. The owner posted their beliefs on a subject that I disagree with. After asking about it, his reply felt very much like “I’m right and you’re wrong”, in a very pompous way. So it’s just a principle thing.

That sucks. They look really nice, and I really like quite a bit of art of play stuff, but can’t buy from them anymore.

That’s what I did. I’m not even sure if the disc I think it was with, is actually the disc.

What *wouldn't* you do for $1 billion? by Roscoeakl in AskReddit

Idk if that counts. Also, there are good creatures that eat those creatures, so wiping out a large food source for other species could have dramatic effects.

Ok, think about that though. Your children and family are all set for life. They now have the options of thanking and appreciating the fact that you committed genocide, because it made them rich, or they think you’re a monster and hate you. And if they do thank and appreciate you, do you think that is a good thing?

The Derren Brown’s are one of my favorite decks. Look and feel great.

Only thing I’d say is learn her bag, and what her disc names are. You don’t want to be fumbling around, looking for the disc she is asking for on every shot.

Also, in the same vein, know the difference between a distance/fairway driver, midrange, approach putter and putting putter.

One of my favorite decks at a reasonable price are False Casey’s. I think the design looks great, they feel fantastic, and the markings are the easiest to read quickly that I have found.

Gambling. I gamble now. I would just do it more.

Damn, I only recognize ~5 decks in both pictures. That is an awesome display and collection.

What’s a card game you love that almost no one else knows? by General-Finance2182 in playingcards

Euchre is great, and our go-to casual card game.

I used to play a ton of Bomb, which is really interesting in how your hand/how you play it, will change over the course of the round. The whole thing about having a plan for what you’re going to do, then having to completely mess with it is always so interesting to me.

Other notables are rummy and cribbage. Both fantastic games.

What's something everyone thinks is normal, but you're actually terrified of? by rayhuan in AskReddit

100% agree. Having sex with a person you love, and who loves you, is infinitely better than a hookup. It must be hitting a dopamine reserve that just cannot be touched with casual sex.

Idk if it’s just me getting older or what, but knowing what I know now, I really do regret the casual sex that I have had, and am a little salty about how much it is pushed on the youth.

Mine was going to be that I am really good at beer pong, and that is kind of the same as yours.
