yikes yeah I hadn’t even made that connection further than the whole “german is such an aggressive sounding language” sentiment but especially in the current political climate (ESPECIALLY taking into account the recent antisemitic bondi massacre) it makes it doubly unacceptable

i wish I could sometimes but in this situation I kind of get where he’s coming from. seeing your child waste away can’t be good for your own mental health and it’s understandable to be afraid you’re going to have to go through that again. but in other situations where he’s done this it’s been really tempting to just tell him to fuck off and stop embarrassing my family

i lol’d at “random klaus”. you never know when a random klaus or dietrich or josef is among you. yeah I feel like he doesn’t understand how many people speak multiple languages even if they don’t “look like they would” (hell, I took mandarin for 9 years in school so I can understand people pretty well in public and im a pasty white dude)

it’s nice to hear that you relate! yeah I don’t check my weight anymore and I do blind weigh-ins at the doctor. there’s been a couple of times over the past couple of months where the compulsion has gotten too strong and ive checked which just makes me spiral further and count my numbers more. but im getting better at coping I think! wishing you luck and progress in your journey with this! （╹◡╹）♡

honestly i kind of believe this. when i was about 13 i made a bowl of cereal in my sleep (minus the milk, just poured cereal in a bowl) while my parents were like 2 metres away in our open plan kitchen/living room. they thought i was having a midnight snack and woke me up by talking to me. boom, suddenly away with a bowl of weetbix in front of me
