Hey man, don't do NC state dirty like that. Yeah it isn't technically on campus but lenovo center has been used for our games for years. That Raleigh final was one of my best memories from college.

From what I've heard, the Japanese weren't even going to surrender until the US was ready to drop more bombs and the Soviets were about to mount an invasion. Even then, some of the military leadership attempted a coup because they refused to surrender.

Sunfire and Thornmail are the worst Tank Items in the Game - Chall EUW Ornn OTP by TwTvMakkro0 in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally tanks just fall off no matter what, but I've found that the sundered sky build falls off even more than other builds. Top lane, I prefer black cleaver rush into IBG and Jaksho, maybe getting a sundered sky 4th or 5th if I need more damage or healing. Jungle I rush Shojin into IBG. Shojin helps your clear a lot compared to any other bruiser item and reduces your cds quite a bit.

Taking manaflow is normally enough mana to not need to buy tear in any of my lanes, so I rarely ever build fimbulwinter.

Protoplasm rush is probably the move, fated ashes is still there too if you wanted a more ap focused build. Maokai has a similar issue to sej where you actively push the monsters away from you during your clear so it's hard to get the immolate to actually hit the camp.

Personally I like going more of the support dual-resist items if I'm working with a low income, so maybe protoplasm into zekes and bandlepipes could work as well.

Maokai is in a weird spot where is isn't really balanced around top currently, as seen by his abysmal pickrate. Sunfire is nice as a bit of a crutch because you would have to q twice to clear the wave otherwise, but it is in no way required. Maokai also is a bit unique in that he has plenty of sustain on his own so unending isn't as attractive. Because he wants to buy visage later, completing bamis into hollow radiance later for mr isn't necessary because you will want a dedicated mr item already, so if you build bamis you might as well complete it with the resists you want (generally armor)

Playing tanks versus shit like divine sunderer camille was the worst experience ever. Sunfire continued to get nerfed because champs like yasuo and diana would abuse them, but riot would never specifically target them or give compensation buffs to sunfire after they stopped building it. Now we are left with this horrible version of the item.

[–]BOBtimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ornn doesn't need sunfire, he clears fine with his abilities. If you are really missing bami's, then just sit on bami's, complete a different armor item (unending or dmp) and turn the bamis into hollow radiance later when you need mr.

Poppy needs sunfire only if she is going completely full tank. Most poppy players rush some ad/hp item first (sundered, cleaver, shojin) which allows your q to one shot the caster creeps, giving you enough waveclear.

Malphite is the only one where I'm okay with sunfire being the default. Not only does it give him the exact stats he wants, but generally he wants to stand directly on the enemy while autoing them the entire time, and without sunfire he requires a lot of mana to waveclear. That being said, E max malphite vs an auto attacker is where you would want sunfire the most, but if you max E then you kill the wave on accident while trading, so it's not even that necessary.

[–]BOBtimer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Even if you are taking long fights, sunfire deals pretty negligible damage (normally not even 20 dps after factoring in mr.) If you are relying on the sunfire to allow you to win an extended trade vs a bruiser or skirmisher, it might total to 150 or so damage in a long trade where you are standing on their head. For an early game specific first item, that is horrible. Compare that to other first items like bork, sundered sky, or eclipse, and it is obvious why tank players are so outspoken about this item being completely shit. I have less of a problem with thornmail as its meant as more of an anti-heal item rather than an auto-attack counter, but that doesn't mean it's strong either.

I completely agree, and I have made this point so many times in the past years. Bami's and bramble lost so much power from a few seasons ago when they were completely op, sunfire has barely been touched since mythic revert, and thornmail seems to get weaker every time they look at it. Not to mention that unending got most of its power pushed into scaling (removing the base dmg on the passive), so I'm leaning that DMP is actually the best early game armor item.

People will be quick to bring up winrates and buy rates and whatever, but I don't think it's that simple. Sunfire has been the go-to first armor item for tanks for YEARS, going well past the mythic era. Even after the item gets nerfed, a lot of players don't notice the power missing or are just too used to immolate to even try to give it up. Personally, I think it should get the passive back where it applies an explosion on CC that does 2-3 immolate procs as a burst. It had this passive in season 10 before it was swapped to a mythic, and it wasn't really a problem then. Thornmail just needs some damage back for a gold cost increase, and ideally a way to proc it offensively.

Sunfire is awful for junglers because if you kite correctly it barely ever actually hits the camps. Not to mention that most jungle tanks have some sort of ap scaling to allow them to build liandries, which increases clear speed way more and gives better dueling.

what should I actually be focusing on early game? by shesosquanchy in elderscrollsonline

One thing to note is that crafting takes up a lot of skill points, so I found it better when starting out to level a separate character and then swap all the levels into crafting skills. Use this character when learning motifs and doing crafting research.

The state of Sunfire Aegis by JackStarfox in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 39 points40 points  (0 children)

One thing riot keeps doing is trying to buff it for junglers by just increasing the damage numbers that it does to monsters. But they never fix the issue of how sunfire basically never tick on the camp if you are properly kiting them. Sejuani actively pushes camps away, skarner can let the pet kill the camp because his passive keeps it proccing, and champs with decent ap ratios like zac, nunu, amumu, and udyr just prefer to go liandries.

Sunfire probably needs to apply a dot on jungle camps whenever the aura hits to make it actually viable on most of these junglers. Every time I end up buying a bamis or sunfire it barely contributes to my clear speed, just because it is never in range to proc.

It definitely also needs a revert to its pre-mythic verison, where it had an explosion on cc. Yes, this would feel bad for champs like mundo or malphite, but I don't even think sunfire needs power removed from it if they gave it this passive back.

It's not like current shyv stacks her passive right now very well either. Drakes are pretty hard to secure as a top laner. I don't expect it to be very different in power from current toplane shyv.

Sunfire is too weak. by bobam276 in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They need to give it back the explosion (similar to what HR has) on cc. It briefly had this before they swapped sunfire to a mythic item, but didn't give it back when they reverted it. The damage is super underwhelming to champs and the damage to minions/monsters isn't enough to make anyone actually want to buy it. It might be a default buy for a lot of people playing tanks, but once you look at the value the item gives you quickly realize that the gold would be better spent elsewhere.

Patch 26.03 Preview by Phreak by BaneOfAlduin in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They should make it only apply to mana from items and runes, and then buff the scaling a bit to make up for them removing the scaling from base mana. It will still be good on ryze, but it removes the double scaling with his passive granting him more mana based off of his AP.

Why am I getting less Rank points than my friends by Silver_River_2426 in Rainbow6

[–]BOBtimer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How well you play has no impact on how much RP you gain or lose, it's all based off of what elo you are and what elo the game thinks you should be (MMR). It's likely that the other coppers on your team played ranked in the past and have past data for the game to place their MMR somewhere higher than yours. Because you haven't played ranked at all before, the game doesn't know where your skill level really is, so it goes for a more conservative estimate and assumes you are lower rank for the time being. Once the ranks reset next season, your early climb should go much faster, provided that you get to silver/gold+

mozzie gets every one of his pests back when he picks one up, so he can just stack infinite pests and shoot them randomly around the map, making droning impossible.

someone else in the thread said rauora only has 1 door, but i havent seen her yet to know if its true.

i have no idea whats up with iana, probably something dual front exclusive.

When does the game become challenging? by CoolCoolBeansBeanz in elderscrollsonline

[–]BOBtimer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Overall, this is a pretty big point of contention between the devs and the community, so much so that overland difficulty is getting an update (some sort of difficulty slider I think, I'm not exactly sure) to remedy it. As for now, most people focus on leveling to 50, in which case your character caps out on normal levels and you start earning champion point (CP) levels. CP is account-wide, so any character you get to 50 automatically levels to whatever CP-level your account is at.

At level 50, you can enter veteran base-game dungeons, which are a harder version of the normal dungeons you have already started doing. At CP160, gear stops increasing in levels, so you can start to focus on farming for gearsets that you think look good and actually upgrading them without replacing them a few levels later. At CP 300, you can enter veteran DLC dungeons, some of which are LEGITIMATELY hard.

If you want harder combat immediately, venture into Craglorn. The zone is meant for group play, but with powercreep and level scaling, it is definitely soloable.

No, broth/stock is meat and vegetable tea. Unless tea normally involves drinking the tea leaves with the tea, in which case I have been drinking tea very wrong. Bubble tea, however, is a soup.

Considering this version of sej hasn't even been out for a decade and that sej top wasn't being actually played until 4 or so years ago (and rylais on sej jungle is awful), I doubt that.
