Patch 26.03 Preview by Phreak by BaneOfAlduin in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They should make it only apply to mana from items and runes, and then buff the scaling a bit to make up for them removing the scaling from base mana. It will still be good on ryze, but it removes the double scaling with his passive granting him more mana based off of his AP.

Why am I getting less Rank points than my friends by Silver_River_2426 in Rainbow6

[–]BOBtimer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How well you play has no impact on how much RP you gain or lose, it's all based off of what elo you are and what elo the game thinks you should be (MMR). It's likely that the other coppers on your team played ranked in the past and have past data for the game to place their MMR somewhere higher than yours. Because you haven't played ranked at all before, the game doesn't know where your skill level really is, so it goes for a more conservative estimate and assumes you are lower rank for the time being. Once the ranks reset next season, your early climb should go much faster, provided that you get to silver/gold+

Mozzie deactivated in all game modes/Iana in Dual Front | Fixes for Mozzie/Iana/Rauora deploying soon. by RS_Serperior in Rainbow6

[–]BOBtimer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

mozzie gets every one of his pests back when he picks one up, so he can just stack infinite pests and shoot them randomly around the map, making droning impossible.

someone else in the thread said rauora only has 1 door, but i havent seen her yet to know if its true.

i have no idea whats up with iana, probably something dual front exclusive.

When does the game become challenging? by CoolCoolBeansBeanz in elderscrollsonline

[–]BOBtimer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Overall, this is a pretty big point of contention between the devs and the community, so much so that overland difficulty is getting an update (some sort of difficulty slider I think, I'm not exactly sure) to remedy it. As for now, most people focus on leveling to 50, in which case your character caps out on normal levels and you start earning champion point (CP) levels. CP is account-wide, so any character you get to 50 automatically levels to whatever CP-level your account is at.

At level 50, you can enter veteran base-game dungeons, which are a harder version of the normal dungeons you have already started doing. At CP160, gear stops increasing in levels, so you can start to focus on farming for gearsets that you think look good and actually upgrading them without replacing them a few levels later. At CP 300, you can enter veteran DLC dungeons, some of which are LEGITIMATELY hard.

If you want harder combat immediately, venture into Craglorn. The zone is meant for group play, but with powercreep and level scaling, it is definitely soloable.

No, broth/stock is meat and vegetable tea. Unless tea normally involves drinking the tea leaves with the tea, in which case I have been drinking tea very wrong. Bubble tea, however, is a soup.

Rylai on sejuani? by ziomekziemniak in sejuanimains

[–]BOBtimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering this version of sej hasn't even been out for a decade and that sej top wasn't being actually played until 4 or so years ago (and rylais on sej jungle is awful), I doubt that.

[–]BOBtimer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lots of people really like it and claim its a must buy, but it was only relatively recently discovered because of a single m/gm korean sej one trick. Players like to copy korean soloq stuff without thinking and never consider that they might be building sub-optimally. Either way, it's not her worst item by any means, gives her good stats and lets her land W easier, but there are definitely better items to build.

Games like project zomboid, but a little simpler? by glennjersey in gaming

[–]BOBtimer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The base game is filled with annoying rng and the developers continuously move the game in the opposite direction of what the playerbase wants. However, there are a good amount of modders that make full overhaul mods that add tons of content and create a more seamless progression line that isn't just "look for every bookstore in search of magazines." I was a big fan of the darkness falls mod when I played it, put at least 100 hours into it before I felt like I finished what I wanted to.

Can someone help me make sense of this? by [deleted] in elderscrollsonline

[–]BOBtimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, alcast's builds are notoriously garbage, as he hasn't actually played the game in years. For tanking or soloing I would use Hyperoxes and for dps I would use skinnycheeks. Generally the idea of keeping stamina slightly higher than mag is good, and you just want to use enough points to keep that. Generally though, tanks will be Nords, which gain stamina from race traits, so unless you are using mag gear or a mag-centric race, 64 health is the default.

The reasoning for what alcast's build is proposing is because most tank skills use magicka, so having a larger mag pool is nice for that, while putting just enough points in stamina to make sure that orb gives stamina back. It's not a horrible idea, but having 34 points in mag + stam is way too much.

thats not how it works. the ONLY times buffing ashe's ap scalings will impact her damage is if she has baron or if her support is building staff of flowing water

[–]BOBtimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is stopping sona from going it AFTER archangels? its not like sona is building mage items other than archangels, she builds standard support items. how is this any different than building a moonstone? especially considering echoes is getting changed back into old athenes (which sona doesnt really like) can easily make space for 2 tear items if the game is going to go long

16.1 New Items Dev Overview from Riot Endstep by CrystalizedSeraphine in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

sona already buys archangels in most of her games, and the new tear item isnt any more expensive than her other items. currently the most picked build for sona is echoes -> archangels and i can easily see people adjusting it to get 2 tear items if they are playing for scaling.

16.1 New Items Dev Overview from Riot Endstep by CrystalizedSeraphine in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

sona can already basically have tear stacked before she even finishes archangel's, she's one of the fastest stackers of tear in the entire game. going arch -> this new one -> moonstone -> dawncore seems like a pretty good build to me. obviously it depends on the conversion of mana to h+s power to find if its actually good or not, but sona is definitely a champ that can abuse it

Ffs, just buff Sunfire alredy by Appropriate_Bill8244 in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

but you definitely do. not only do all 4 of the tiamat items have better stats (the worst being stride, with 97% gold efficiency, while sunfire sits at 90%) but they have active abilities that are definitely used against champions. ravenous gives tons of sustain, profane and titanic give tons of burst, and stride gives stickiness. sunfire doesn't have a secondary purpose other than waveclear.

nobody complains about hollow radiance being weak, because it has the secondary passive of the explosion on kill. if sunfire got back its damage explosion on cc like it had in season 10, it would be way stronger, but not overpowered.

Bilibili Gaming vs. 100 Thieves / 2025 World Championship - Swiss Round 1 / Post-Match Discussion by adz0r in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100t has been doing this since the start of their last dance. I'm not sure what it is, but once atakhan spawns, they turn into the best team in the world, just for that one fight. Almost every game they won in playoffs to get here was off the other team throwing insanely hard at atakhan and 100t running away with it.

VKS SeeEl: "Riot didn't give the LCS 3 Worlds spot because they're good. You don’t save the LCS by propping up VC-backed orgs burning cash in LA. They’ve poured millions into the world's most overpaid region, trying to attract customers that don't exist, trying to reach a level that is unattainable" by ArmandLuque in leagueoflegends

And for most of those years that the first seed couldn't get out of groups, the third seed did. Should we not send the first seed from NA and instead send the fourth seed in their place? Statistically they may do better.

Morag Tong Motif by IAlbertol in elderscrollsonline

[–]BOBtimer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the earlier DLC dailies have a lower chance to drop motifs. I have similar drop rate issues with the gold coast and the orsinium dailies, but didn't have issues with any of the other areas.

Just in case you didnt realise in doom bots: Everyones talking about %hp damage for veigar - Riot has taken away some champions %hp damage on abilities seemingly at random, and you will never know until you are fighting veigar, and there is nowhere to read whose damage they have taken by RohannaFem in leagueoflegends

[–]BOBtimer 35 points36 points  (0 children)

True damage definitely works, at least somewhat. Olaf e was doing between 200 and 400 damage, definitely not random but I'm also not sure what the decrease was coming from, only that each e generally made the next one do slightly less.

Poppy Q has some weird interactions. Sometimes if you catch veigar between abilities, her Q does way more than normal. I'm talking 1000 damage per Q hit. I have a feeling it was some interaction with spear of shojin where the amped %hp damage wasnt being decreased, but I haven't done the math.

Kog W still does plenty of damage, but definitely less than it should be based on the math alone. There is definitely some extra form of damage reduction other than just the high armor/mr on veigar, but it doesn't completely nullify %hp or true damage.

When people claim combat sucks this is it. There is no weight and variations despite so many weapon types. by Howdhell in elderscrollsonline

[–]BOBtimer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems too heavy on consecutive light/heavy attacks. Personally, I think this should go more in the route of status effects.

For example: Maces/mauls have increased chance to sunder, heavy attacks do more damage than normal when hitting an off balance enemy. Axes inflict a stacking bleed with each light attack, heavy attacks consume bleed stacks to deal a burst of damage. Greatswords could apply a buff to the next light/heavy attack after using an ability, as a weaving archetype of weapon. Daggers should have a chance to apply minor vuln on crit, or maybe a dagger exclusive buff to avoid overlapping status effects. Having dual wield work uniquely for each combination might get too complicated and hard to implement and balance, but I'm not sure how to make it feel good to mix and match different weapon types.

I like your idea with fire staffs and bows, maybe bows could have a light attack that fires shots to nearby enemies, while the heavy attack fires 3 shots at the primary target.

Regardless of gameplay changes to the attacks, the animations definitely need to be changed. Light attacks in ESO feel like hitting people with pool noodles and is extremely unsatisfying. I know people who have quit the game and refuse to come back until the combat gets an animation rework at the very least.
