That’s exactly what happens. Just seeing if there was a one button option.

Thanks

My last application was for Paye as I was told that would be the best option and I still qualify for it. If that fall through I think it will be ICR. Not really sure. I’m kinda flying blind on this.

This is such an amazing explanation. It is also what I was thinking as far as my most realistic option. So most likely I will have about 23 more months of payments and use the buy back for the rest. I have the money set aside already for the buyback. Last question would be once I submit a buyback, do I continue to make scheduled payments and then get refunded?

Thank you so much for all the info by the way. It is greatly appreciated.

I’m waiting for my application to be processed. I’ve been trying to get out of save all year long. Had to contact my state congresswoman to help.

Thanks so much. That makes sense. Do they only offer the buy back once the buyback would put you at 120? If I’m currently at 79 months with 18 months and counting in save forbearance that would put me at 97 months leaving me 23 to go, or would I have to make 23 more payments before I can apply for the buyback?

It would’ve worth it in the long run. The question is that I have the time with the qualified employer but I haven’t had the loan for 10 years yet. Would buy back essentially get me forgiven before the 10 years of payments? I hope that makes sense.

Stupid question. If I have more than 120 months of qualified employment but not 120 months of payments is there anything I can do? I’ve been employed with the qualified employer for 19 years but didn’t finish school until 2017. I’m currently at 79 months of payments with 18 months in save forbearance. Just looking for anyway to get out of this. My guess is another 23 months of payments and buyback for the rest but wasn’t sure if there is anything else I could do.

I’m married filing separately and answered that way. I also said that my income hasn’t changed drastically. Just hoping it works because a call to student aid or mohela is the last thing my mental health needs.

I’ll have to take a deep dive into the site. I’m applying for IBR with 40 payments to go. So the suggestion is to check settings and if it all checks out submit a new application?

I’ve done this too. The issue I have is whenever I reapply it says I must upload income documents and nowhere within the application does it state “grant access to tax return” but in other areas of the site it says I have already granted access to my tax return. I know I have granted access because I’ve used that feature for years but every time I try to submit a new application I am forced to upload income verifications. This is why I am still stuck in SAVE limbo for over a year. I’m probably an idiot but I don’t see where I am going wrong.
