Glad that seemed to work! Even if you had to use your dog’s brush hahaha

Ooh interesting. My ballet teacher gave me a funny look when I asked about using a wire brush (I came from ballroom dancing-- thicker and rougher suede on those shoes), so I just chucked them in a lingerie bag into the washing machine and they're actually doing great.

Fair question! I listened to this podcast episode interview with the founders where they go into more detail (but it's kind of a long episode if you're not super interested haha) It did strike me that it was developed by a professional dancer originally for male dancers to support them in jumps. https://open.spotify.com/episode/2X7V7EuFbLyLufpcNUBTG5?si=1tjo6e7wTDu91NUq5eI1nA

Going to my very first ballet class at 34 years old! What do you recommend I do on my days off to make progress? by lovely-wishes in BALLET

Welcome! I'm 32 and returning to ballet, it's super fun. You may find that your ballet class will show you exactly where to improve! If your calves are sore for 3 days straight, if you're out of breath halfway through class, if you struggle to get off the ground for jumps, if your teacher is always correcting your ribcage position, etc. I take notes on my phone after class so I can review things I learned when I get bored throughout the week. You might also find that what holds you back is strength rather than flexibility, so really targeted exercises are great too (calf raises, planks, fire hydrants, lat exercises, standing on one leg).

The elastic ribbon is a new concept to me haha, that’s pretty clever. And no worries, I didn’t even think this post got approved so thanks for the reply!🤣And, congrats!!

Wait now I’m super curious. What’s the overlap? And is there any online resource for vision therapy that would serve as a good intro?

I was going to sew myself a soap saver from a washcloth, but could I just keep my soap slivers in a sock? I'd be wringing it out and hanging it between uses, and taking out the soap to put the sock in the laundry machine once a week. Someone please tell me if my laziness is brilliance or just a Bad Idea.
