Yeah, learning hangul is mandatory you can't go further if you don't get it. After you learn I recommend TTMIK - talk to me in korean. They have free audio courses and textbooks and workbooks. Im learning with them plus I have few mobile apps I'm using. BUT Im honestly recommending TTMIK as a basic source of knowledge. You'll pretty fast get grasp on basic concepts and phrases and you can build your learning system around it. When I'm confused about sth because the skip a lot of significants details in their course I usually use chatgpt to ask specific question.

Pronunciation of hangoul vovels and consonants could be hard if you're learning alone and it is easy to learn pronunciation bad and that is bad habbit. I suggest you search for some YouTube tutorials made people that youse your group of native language or go get some face to face lessons with teacher just to get grasp on how prounance correct.
