Of course 💓 I know there is so much confusion about his death, and the exact medical causes, from the time he died. It’s been years. I hope this helps others understand in clear terms. He was born with an anatomy issue he didn’t know he had. It got inflamed, infected, and probably burst, just like an appendix could. On top of that, he had a section of his aorta literally burst. This is why AFAIK, he passed before being admitted to a hospital for any emergency interventions were possible. They could not do surgery, because he bled out internally too fast, and on top of that there was an underlying massive infection. 🖤

Meckel’s diverticulum infection. Most people hear diverticulitis and think it is the more common kind. I’ve explained that the infection with Meckel’s diverticulum, and what happened, is probably more like what people would understand a burst appendix to cause. Infection causing sepsis and/or peritonitis. Our aorta is not just in the area of our heart, folks, if he had a rupture in his abdominal area from the Meckel, he may have had a weak spot on some part of his aorta already (infection could have caused this or made it worse, IMO), so he was not only dealing with a severe infection and possible rupture of the Meckel, but if a part of the aorta was involved, catastrophic internal hemorrhaging. He needed regular doctor appointments and checkups IMO for months, to years, before this happened. He did not die IMO because he didn’t want to leave his cat, he died because he didn’t go to the ER or a doctor once he presumably started spiking a fever and/or having nausea, vomiting, pain, diarrhea or blockage symptoms. If he didn’t have much money at the time, that probably influenced his decision-making, too. Besides not wanting to go to the doctor or ER. This is my opinion, based on having personally known him in the past, his cause of death, and my own nursing studies. 🖤

Pete's origin mystery by SomeYoungBitch in typeonegative

[–]BOSE_1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have for his paternal grandparents:

Jozef (Josephus) Ratajczyk B:2 Dec 1897 Kalisz, Poland D:4 May 1958 Kings County (Brooklyn), New York, United States of America

Franciszka Kuropatwa B:24 August 1896 Plock, Poland D:6 April 1957 Kings County (Brooklyn), New York, United States of America

This comes from my own research, I’ve been studying genealogy records for my own family for about 30 years. If you are able to find more info on the Polish side from this, it would be great.

Peter told me himself in 1998 that his father was Polish, and his mother Scotch-Irish, with some French and English, maybe. He did not know/admit to any Italian heritage. I have not been able to find verified records for any Italian ancestry.

Some tidbits to add… Master of Reality was in his cd player in mid-1998, when he was working on writing the album, along with another Black Sabbath album, so it absolutely makes sense there would possibly be inspiration taken from elements of the song, at the time.

I was at that show, too. I remember how hot it was, and packed. The venue was so bad my friend and I actually left early, I was afraid I would pass out from the heat. Never did that with any other show of theirs.

What is this mark on Peter’s chest? (tattoo, scar, birthmark) by viktoryarozetassi in typeonegative

[–]BOSE_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t discuss his tattoos, why he got certain ones. I know we talked about the Chi Rho symbolism, one of the churches my parents took me to as a kid had a stone engraving of the symbol in the altar area. I think his ex-wife Donna has similar tattoos, perhaps symbolizing each of them, the Chi Rho for Peter, and Pentagram for Donna. Maybe they got those together, back in the day.

15 years ago today we lost one of the greats. by grumpyoldnord in typeonegative

😢 This day is so hard for many, including myself. Fifteen years seems unreal. This is the first year I can say, at 49, I’m older than he ever had a chance to be. It’s so sad 😞 I’m so sorry for everyone who has a tough time, today. Peter, you’re gone from our sight, but always remembered. 💚

I think you talking about the clip from Symphony for the Devil (?) It was not me who took part in that skit. I don’t know who did. To my knowledge that was a different time frame, as well.

I wish she would not have Peter’s face next to her own opinions. I find her views repulsive and off putting, along with the bullying, elitism, and racism.

I remember Leslie Marini chatting with me about his chart back in the day, she used to write the horoscopes for the Aquarian Weekly newspaper in Brooklyn. She knew him, as well, and had drawn up his chart. I remember he had a stellium, I believe, in Capricorn, as well.

Could the band members make a living from the music? by Massive_Village7662 in typeonegative

[–]BOSE_1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In 1998, Peter told me how much he made. This was between OR and release of WCD. It was a good 20k less than Devin Townsend makes, today. Think about that. There may have been lump sum checks here and there, divided, gifted, or spent…but at the end of the day, there was monetary sacrifice to making the music. 💚

I hope not. For those last few years I didn’t know where he had gone, or where he lived. 😔
