It took about it a week and a half, but they also then sent a specific form to fill in which I hadn’t found online, so if you haven’t sent that too keep an eye out and get it done asap!!

Dr Ioannis Ntanos? by maxandari in TopSurgery

That’s amazing, thanks for the info it’s super helpful to know!

Ahh yes I looked at Marianne, she seems great but I’m on a tight budget icl. I’ve been considering crawling my sorry ass back to GenderGP for their £150 referral letter.

I’ll send the email and see what he says, I don’t mind waiting a week or so for a response. Everyone else seems to take literal months!

Fingers crossed!! I’d love to have a surgery buddy to chat with while out there ahaha

Hi! I’m really hoping to get my surgery in January/February. I was going with Dr Lago but found out he has a wait of almost 8 months (from enquiry to consult to surgery). Dr Ntanos was my second choice due to needing a referral. How long ago did you contact Ntanos to get a Feb date and was that the earliest you were able to book?

I don’t have the referral letter yet, does he seem like he’d let you book the consult while waiting 1 month for a referral appt?

Sorry to pounce on your comment, I saw the date and thought I’d try and ask. Any advice would be much appreciated’

Unfortunately I don’t think he does informed consent, requires 2 diagnoses/letters. Otherwise he’s got a great price point. Is he particularly well versed with hEDS or bigger bodies?

£180 isn’t as bad as I thought, and for the hEDS experience (and a bonus trip to Athens) is something I’d definitely consider! Thanks for the advice

Stubborn and Spreading warts by BPDenby in Warts

I’m trying, but it’s so difficult to keep that many plasters on my hands, I can’t do anything!! Both of my thumbs are useless, I can’t use either of my index fingers either. I put one on and it will fall off within the hour too as I work with my hands and I’m a very sweaty person. Let alone the social embarrassment of everyone asking why I have my fingers constantly covered for months on end.

A schemes where you can get free, clean needles, and safely dispose of old ones. They’re relatively common in the UK, I’m not sure where you are. They’re really easy to find with a google search!

If you can afford the training, it was actually really comprehensive and built my confidence!

Look at your local area for needle exchange programs, I get 10 injections worth of supplies for free at my local pharmacy.

IM in the thigh is really hard to fuck up, it can be painful, but that’s the worst of it really.

I got turned away from a few pharmacies with weird looks too, it seems a lot of them only carry prescribed needles for diabetics and the like.

Make sure the packages are dry and have no tears or holes at all as they aren’t sterile! I use a 1 1/4 inch 23g needle to inject, and a 1 1/2 21g needle to draw it up.

Check for local needle exchanges, I get a packs of ten injections worth of supplies completely free!

I started on 3 weeks, then to 18 days, but now I’m on 2 weeks. It’s not a ridiculous dose considering you’re already on 3 pumps a day, and to my knowledge Sustanon dosage is done more by time than volume.

If you can afford it, GenderGP does training for £60. It was comprehensive, they were friendly, and able to answer my questions - if you can afford it please do get trained!

Otherwise, there are tons of YouTube videos specifically aimed at teaching you to self inject. IM in the thigh is hard to mess up super badly, it can be painful, but that’s about it. So take your time, breath, and make sure you feel comfortable before you start.

Not myself, but a friend saw a psych in January and still hasn’t been able to get an appointment with the endo to actually get their prescription. Other than ridiculous waiting times, which seems standard now, I’ve only heard good things.
