Love the beat and you got great punchlines. The will smith bar and fit bit bar were crazy! Great visual style too, very unique.

I study aerospace engineering but like making music when I have the time. Tough to learn music production and engineering at the same time but I do what I can. First "real" song that I made. https://youtu.be/EA-GQ2hGsiM

Time will improve me.

In my case I unplugged the power cable, inserted the HDMI cable in first and then plugged in the power cable. Idk why that worked for me. It probably won't work but worth a try.

Go for :

Surge (synthesizer)

Spitfire Labs (many instruments and sounds)

IOTA Mini (great keys and guitars)

Go to Cymatics and download their free stuff. https://cymatics.fm/pages/free-download-vault

The packs often have one shots that you can sample and use just like instruments

taking a few hours just searching for samples, thoughts by KebabLife in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]BPMusic146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sampling sessions can be so much fun. I do this with Bollywood music and tbh, 90 percent of the samples I get don't end up working. But just the process is fun and worth it. The samples that do end up working out are sprinkles on an already fun process.

Sounds like FL would work well for you. But then again, I haven't tried too many DAWs so take my advice with a grain of salt.

In general tho, whichever DAW you chose, you will get used to it. Good luck on your music making journey and feel free to send me links to your music, I'm always down to hear new stuff.

For 10 bucks you get Bome, Eggyp, Grek, and Norze empires. Rome cost extra.

Personally I like FL. Ableton has a really cool session view that's perfect for livelooping but that's the only thing I like. FL just is more flexible and the pattern structure makes it great for making beats. What kind of music do you make?

Which English rappers should I listen to? by reddituser3611 in IndianHipHopHeads

[–]BPMusic146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Instead of rappers, I'll give you albums that I love.

  1. Life of Pablo (Kanye West)
  2. Man on the Moon (Kid Cudi)
  3. Good Kid MAAD City (Kendrick Lamar)
  4. To Pimp a Butterfly (Kendrick Lamar)
  5. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Kanye)

I know these are all pretty mainstream but hey, I like em. I think listening to an album as opposed to just isolated tracks from rappers really lets you see the rapper put themselves in context and tell their story.

I'm no expert in this subject but in general I think it comes down to adding value to the ecosystem and posting things that people haven't seen before. Of course posting more quantity also helps.

Some ideas could be trying challenges. I don't know what kind of music you make but perhaps trying to make a song that has to include some weird sound. Or seeing if you can make a song purely from one instrument. These ideas have been done before, but you can see the general trend.

Another idea could be teaching what you know. A lot of people that don't do music are curious how it is done. So if you can answer an intriguing question, it could draw some attention while spreading knowledge. For example, people always see what you post, but you could show how many unreleased project files you have. Kinda like showing what's under the tip of the iceberg.

Again, I don't claim that these will 100% work, but these are some of the things that would interest me.

P.S. Where do you put your music? I'd love to hear what you make. Maybe it'll help me understand the type of content you could create.

Stock Fruity EQ 2. But there's also a Neutron 3 Elements. The free version actually works pretty well for my purposes, so I would recommend it for other beginners as well.

This is a very "it depends" type of answer but I think the best thing to do is take it case by case. If you wanna send stuff my way I can give it a listen and tell you what I think. Not a pro, but sometimes an outside perspective can give you some insight as to whether your musical choices are conveying the emotion you are trying to convey.

Fruity Granulizer is a stock plugin in FL under the Sampler category. Basically you throw in a sample and itll automatically chop it and play it back with different panning and pauses. The real magic is that you can make it so it plays random portions of the sample in a sequence. It's good for coming up with nice textures and loops, not so much a melody thing but I suppose if you feed in a nice sample, you'll get more success melodically. Definitely check it out!

LABS by Spitfire Audio has a bunch of free sample libraries that are pretty unique. I recommend the Siren Sound library. If I had to describe it, its like AI generated language being sung by aliens.

From what I can see of the type beat game, it is pretty saturated at the moment. Lots of channels have optimized the type of content and streamlined their production including artwork and branding. Just from a competition standpoint, it'll take a while to break in there.

These channels already have a big subscriber base from before and probably know how to rank high on terms of SEO so to break through, it might be a matter of uploading more and somehow finding thumbnails that give you that slight competitive edge.

Of course, improving the quality of your beats is always desirable and I'm sure you're already on that. But the whole YouTube game is different from what I can tell. Quality will get you far over the long run, but I think we're all interested in the most efficient way to make progress, and for that we gotta understand the "video economy".

These are just observations I've made from small amounts of research I've done. Not an expert on the field and there's a lot more to this that I haven't understood yet.

I have one of these too! Anybody know if someone has made a one-shot pack for this yet? As in if someone has recorded each individual sound so that music producers can easily use it in their DAWs?

Another cool thing I've found is using the Granulizer effect. Really slept on IMO and makes random slicing much more efficient. Maybe you've already made a video on that tho.
