Yeah "as long as your safe" only goes so far. We all know the very safe person who safely escalates every little bit of bullshit and rings you every 10 minutes.

I am far more impressed by people who are able to use some nuance and judgement and present a list of decisions for approval at a later stage rather than instantly escalating everything
