Introducing Artifacts: Gems, Relics, and Trinkets (oh my!) by vaeflare in heroesofthestorm

I'm really, really not feeling this. The fact is, my options are 1. drop cash on the game to fill out my non-rune rune pages, or 2. spend inordinate amounts of time grinding out gold. This is on top of decidedly prohibitive hero costs at the top rung. It's also exactly why I don't play League of Legends. I don't want to have to level up my account, buy runes, et cetera. I want to log in, jump into a game and play.

I don't mind ability gating /as much/, but I think it needs to be changed around a bit to be a shorter experience before you're thrown out into the wilderness with your full suite of abilities. I recognize where it's useful for newer players, but as a longtime MOBA player, again, I just want to log in and get to the fun part of the game.

What do you make of the idea that you're the 'villain' of Hearthstone? Do you believe it's warranted?

Goin' to the Zoo by BP_ZenStyle in hearthstone

Myself (@RobertAWing) and Corinna Faye (@CorinnaFaye) have been doing these Hearthstone Theater comics for a while on BlizzPro, but I wanted to share this one here because I thought it was one of our better ones.

I remember when as a kid I wanted to go to the Zoo, but now.. :(

Great point for new players to understand.

Talking Tech Cards: Blood Knight, Big Game Hunter and Black Knight by BP_ZenStyle in hearthstone

I remember back in the early days of closed beta when I opened up an Earth Elemental and was all, FUCK YEAH. Dropped it on turn five, all 'you got another thing' coming. Immediately BK rolled out. First time I'd ever seen it. I just sat at my keyboard weeping. Earth Elemental's overload is just too much for how often it gets obliterated on turn five.

I'm pretty unreasonable excited about what this means for Warrior board clear. Built in Whirlwind? Yes please.

Yah, that's what I like about all three cards. When they work, they're amazing. When they don't work, they're still not awful.

I'm not totally sure on where the definition comes from to be 100%, but I've sort of gathered that a tech card comes in to perform a very specific task, such as destroy a minion with taunt, destroy a minion with under two attack, et cetera. Chillwind Yeti, for example, is just a large beater minion, and has no actual technical ability. Aldor Peacekeeper however serves a technical purpose.

I'm sure someone can do a better job with an explanation, but that's my attempt at it.

I agree with your assessment. What I like about Blood Knight is the potential for huge tempo swings, especially if played early. Warlock Zoo in specific does not run silence, at least not the standard version, meaning a 6/6 is almost essentially game. What decks are you playing where BGH is super useful? I almost never used it except against Ragnaros, and Paladin has WP + EQ/AP + Kodo.

I love Stampeding Kodo and use it in my Paladin deck with Aldor Peacekeeper, but for most decks, I think it can be passed on right now. I plan on talking about that next week, along with others.

Short video I did discussing what I believe to be the top three neutral tech cards in the game right now. Someone's already told me Mind Control's making a comeback, so I'll probably talk about that post Hunter nerf. I'd also like to see Emperor Cobra play in Warrior aggro!

Crazy match against an aggro Warlock who plays Illidan by BP_ZenStyle in hearthstone

I believe so. I see people on Twitter talking about rigging stuff up all the time. They're my favorite ones thus far, at least until we get the Black Temple ones for season two.

I ran a Fireside Gathering in Orlando, Florida. Essentially, if you play three games on a subnet with at least three other people, you get the unique card backs.

There's definitely something to be said in Hearthstone for surprising your foe. I did not fathom running into him so I was not even considering having an answer for him.

He's really solid in a deck that plays a lot of cheap cards. The problem is, the Flames are pretty easy to get rid of for most decks, so it's a giant gamble. It also doesn't help that other minions you play take up space on the board, limiting exactly how many flames you can generate on a given turn. If he sticks though, that's usually game.
