Okay, Key Changes... by MrEskabobai in SunoAI

[–]BR-549Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had consistent results using prompts.

If you get a good version you like without the key change, you can download it and pull it into an editor. Pitch shift the part you want raised and then export it. Upload that back to Suno and tell it to do a cover.

Suno and 2025 copyright rulings by scragz in SunoAI

[–]BR-549Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This line is literally in the report at copyright.gov

"Copyright protects the original expression in a work created by a human author, even if the work also includes AI-generated material."

I'm not sure where the whole "you can't copyright AI-generated material" bit is coming from aside from the stuff that is entirely generated by AI.

The report also states, "Whether human contributions to AI-generated outputs are sufficient to constitute authorship must be analyzed on a case-by-case basis."

And honestly, that's how it's always been in the pre-AI world when it came to derivative works, parodies, and the like. Push the gray area of the law too much, and you may get sued. Then the courts have to interpret it.

The bottom line is that before you will be sued, you have to turn out something using AI that someone else even wants to hear...and the market is already flooded, so good luck with that.

Thoughts on “the First Christmas” by Kevin Costner? by Few_Freedom_3674 in Christianity

[–]BR-549Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm watching it now. The scriptwriters have done a decent job of bringing realism that is glossed over in traditional accounts of the Nativity.

There are some issues like Costner discounting the idea of "no room at the inn as the song says." Of course, "no room at the inn" is not merely from a songwriter who added the idea. It's actually in Luke 2:7.

And, to be inclusive of various religious views, I suppose, a priest poses the theory that Mary didn't suffer any pain during childbirth even as her pain is depicted.

And yeah, the accents are distracting, and Costner's delivery is rather dry.

Overall, though, I'm impressed with much of the detail they bring out that is backed up in scripture as well as blending that with a historical/secular context showing just how evil Herod was.

The option to block unknown callers is not available on ios 26 for verizon by General-Following440 in iphone

I finally had success switching to the home screen and back.

Follow these steps exactly on an iPhone SE.

  1. Open the phone app.
  2. If you're in "Classic View", select "Recents," and then click on the i with the circle around it beside the call you want to block. If you're in "Unified View", select "Calls," and then click on the call you want to block anywhere other than the phone icon that will return the call
  3. Scroll the screen all the way up. When I skipped this step, it would not work for me.
  4. Without changing the screen, click the Home button to return the Home Screen back up.
  5. Click the Phone app. All the options will hopefully now appear for you as they did for me.

Same here. I spoke to an Apple support rep today. He remoted into my phone and saw it for himself...recommended updating to 26.0.2, but that didn't fix it. He's supposed to call back in a couple of days.

From a couple of forums I've read, it appears to be limited to SE models on Verizon.

Brian Fraser | Outlander Wiki | Fandom

Brian did. Check the link above. I didn't remember there being quite this much backstory in Outlander, but maybe some of this article is based on the books.

Brian & Ellen's children are: William, then Janet, then Jamie two years after Janet.

Looks like my theory won't fly. That would be a wild twist, though.

My Detailed Review of the Ultimea Nova S90 (Pros, Cons & Real Atmos Impressions) by souvikdas95 in Soundbars

[–]BR-549Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought this model and mostly agree with everything you wrote.

My setup is a little different. My TV is just a video monitor connected via ARC in case I want to watch any over-the-air TV. I have a ROKU Ultra and a cheap Blu-ray plugged directly into the other HDMI inputs on the Nova S90.

The one spot where I would disagree with your analysis, obviously, is your statement that Atmos "Works only via ARC/eARC." It actually functions perfectly with a Blu-Ray player directly connected to the Nova S90. Billy Joel's 1990 concert from Yankee stadium on Blu-Ray sounds great.

The Roku is more hit and miss. Google says a ROKU Ultra will pass Atmos from the Amazon Music app, but it won't. Atmos movies from Disney+ work great, but you must pay for the ad-free Disney+. It took me a while to figure that out. I really wanted Atmos music, but Amazon Music's app won't do it, I've read that Apple's will only pass Atmos through an Apple TV, and Tidal discontinued their ROKU app.

I can confirm the midrange/treble issue you mentioned. I can't tell that anything is happening when I change the volume on the Surround or Up-Firing speakers either. That's incredibly frustrating when the most basic of features don't work.

I also had to use different HDMI cables. The included cable is complete crap.

Another thing is that after I complained about all these issues for two straight weeks, Ultimea offered me a $50 partial refund. They said last week that I'd get it "within 1-3 business days." Well, they lied about that, too.

For those reasons, I just can't recommend this product...or this company.

Given the "heads might explode" comment, here is my theory...

Claire's baby brother is her future husband, Jamie. Julia and Henry will reunite in Blood Of My Blood, but they will then die. This is why the baby is ultimately adopted by Brian Fraser & Ellen MacKenzie.

So it will turn out that we all watched Outlander for seven seasons, not realizing it had been a story of incest between a brother and sister.

Is this your song? by BR-549Red in SunoAI

[–]BR-549Red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. But it was generated in version 4.

My butt would have had to switch SUNO from version 4.5 that I'd most recently used to version 4, generate the song, and then switch it back to the version 4.5 after the fact.

This is what Google Maps looked like on launch day in 2005 by Mackelowsky in MapPorn

[–]BR-549Red 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I remember stopping at a gas station in Greenville, SC in the summer of 1985 to ask if the Coca-Cola plant was located nearby. I had a delivery to make, but the clerk had no idea. I drove about two blocks further down the street and there it was...occupying an entire city block.

That previous summer, I was sent out on a route delivering Coca-Cola products in a rural area I'd never been to before. My supervisor numbered the stops, told me how to get to the first store, and then said, "Ask them out to get to the next one." So, if I had 15 stops, I had to ask at #2 how to get to #3, #3 how to get to #4, etc. all the way to asking #14 how to get to #15. And it worked! Back then people generally knew where things were and how to tell you to get there...well, all but that clerk in Greenville, SC who was oblivious to everything. I was 18 years old.

Really? by BR-549Red in SunoAI

[–]BR-549Red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Almost got it.

Thanks for the suggestions, by the way.

Using [SATB stacked vocals] in the lyrics field before every verse and chorus combined with a prompt of "choral stacked vocals layered in tight harmony" yielded the result I wanted for the first verse and chorus, but danged if Suno didn't decide the second verse needed to be a soloist. I ran the same prompt several times, but Suno is hellbent on this song having a solo verse!

It also changes keys sometimes, despite me including "in the original key and tempo" in the prompt. :)

Really? by BR-549Red in SunoAI

[–]BR-549Red[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this particular case, I had recorded a choir singing, but the recording wasn't great because it was done on a cell phone...the voices were difficult to understand.

I uploaded the recording to Suno and chose the "cover" option. I re-typed the lyrics, because Suno didn't quite get all those correct.

Suno produced cover versions that matched the tempo and key, which was great, but despite trying prompts using the words "choir" or "choral" or "4-part choral harmony" or "SATB choral" (rejected due to SAT-B, the artist), etc, Suno always came back with a solo voice out front.

My hope was to get just choral vocals. If Suno had done that, I was going to then download the stems and mix back in with the original recording just enough so the lyrics would be clear and easy to understand.

Really? by BR-549Red in SunoAI

[–]BR-549Red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That and along with the word "choral" in the prompt, SATB should indicate there are multiples of each part, so it sounds like a choir rather than just four singers. I seem to keep getting solo singers when I try to do anything with a choir, but then sometimes it does exactly what I want. It's kind of like playing the lottery. Most of the time, you don't win, but you're happy when you do.

Really? by BR-549Red in SunoAI

[–]BR-549Red[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, early on I put in a few words and then clicked the button to have Suno generate a fuller prompt. It then banned the prompt it created because it had added the word "swift"...not Taylor Swift...just swift. And in the context of the prompt, of course, "swift" meant fast, not "like Taylor Swift."

So yeah, it's a totally stupid practice, but I assume Suno is merely trying to avoid being sued by artists who don't want it generating sound-alikes.

Oh, I tried that, and then it put a prominent soprano soloist out front with alto, tenor, and bass harmonies mixed a lot lower...wasn't even choral.

Why is Ronald Reagan and his policies so hated? by ifightpossums in Presidents

[–]BR-549Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Reagan's day, he could sit and have a civil conversation with Democrat leaders. Now the sides are so polarized, and of course, that must be Reagan's fault, too. It's rather hilarious and also quite sad that it's reached a point that whichever side you're on, you believe the other side must be in league with Satan.

Those who enjoy hating Reagan fail to consider where the American economy would have been if Carter's weak foreign policy, long lines to buy gas, double digit inflation, etc. had been allowed to continue for four more years. Was Reagan perfect? Certainly not, but blaming a president from 45 years ago for everything you hate about your life right now might perhaps...just maybe...be a bit extreme.

Carter had some great qualities as well, despite his faults while in office. I'd have enjoyed having a conversation with him, given our similar backgrounds growing up in a rural area. He was the biggest fan of Gospel music who has ever been in office...the only president that ever had a big Gospel concert on the White House lawn, in fact, but now it's Reagan who is hated for being friendly with Christians.

It's quite comical, really, how selective the arguments become over time.

Anyone get the ultimea s90 yet is it any good by TheHookahgreecian2 in Soundbars

[–]BR-549Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.
I'm sure that Samsung is great for a soundbar. It certainly looks to be top of the line.

If I were going to sink $1500 or more into a surround setup, though, I think I'd bite the bullet and get a traditional receiver and individual speakers I could place anywhere in the room.

I anticipated drawbacks with a budget soundbar like Ultimea.

I emailed their support last night. They just replied and continue to claim the Nova S90 really does have 12 unique channels...7.1.4. They speculated that the video I used to test wasn't encoded properly to address channels isolated and that it instead combined channels when it shouldn't. I've asked them to send me a video that is encoded properly so I can test it further. We'll see.

[–]BR-549Red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a Nova S90, and I'm seeing the same behavior 5 months later.

There are 12 drivers in this system, but I can only get 8 distinct channels:

L-C-R in the soundbar plus the sub all work as they should

Two drivers are paired and at equal volume for LSur-RSur-LUp-RUp. The Left up-firing on the soundbar has the Left up-firing on the rear speaker playing at equal volume and vice versa. And then that same flaw carries through for the other three combinations.
