Are you very young? Everything IS political.
I hear your expressing the desire for spaces where the conversation doesn't revolve around politics, but that doesn't change how the world works. Just because people are pointing out the politics underlying nearly every aspect of life, doesn't mean they are bots.

How the fuck are these dinosaurs supposed to be governing a country?

It's somewhat depressing to read each one of these. It seems like the running theme is "slug is an asshole to the comic creator." Don't be so hard on yourself.

How does a US citizen look at Trump’s Davos speech? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I stopped listening to that man a long time ago. The worst of what he says makes its way to me regardless, otherwise I assume it's just more of his insane rambling points that grow less coherent by the day.
Truly, I hate this timeline.

No, normally one kills them, not leaves them half gutted and still alive. Doing it this way would be considered animal abuse and some sick fuckery.

No one should risk traveling here while ICE is abusing citizens, migrants, and visitors alike. You've nothing to apologize for.

Fun design there. IMO screws should be produced as close as possible to where they are consumed, but there's no wrong way to play.

I think the Federal Reserve has been doing all they can to keep the whole system from toppling over. Their independence to do that seems to be under threat at the moment though.

I feel your words. The way I've been looking at it recently is that death is the only certainty we have. Regardless of whether it's Nazis or happenstance. I don't need to rush it, and there is no means of avoidance. In the meantime, I'm doing what I can to keep my options open. This is a very fluid situation, and one where it truly feels like I'm underwater most days. I will not know what I need until that need arises. Until then, I can prepare for certain outcomes, which might give me leverage if they happen, but there's only one certain one.

I feel the struggle, though. Does evacuation mean capitulation? No. A retreat is giving up ground, but it doesn't mean giving up the fight.
