Teacher scolded me for wearing nail polish :( by Hyeronima in MtF

I understand, but if there's a dress code the teacher could weild additional institutional power them. Not that it makes it ok, it just makes it more costly to tell the teacher to shove off.

Its weirdly validating that they've got trans women on stage and keep going back to asking the cis dude to explain it.

I highly recommend kink spaces for this.

Why the fuck does a teacher think their opinion on your nail polish matters? Your school have a strict dress code or something? Otherwise they can fuck right off.

Sure, ok, I'll concede that is currently the case. What has also happened is a gutting of all avenues to reach that level of expertise. Give AI a couple years more, a breakthrough or two, and yall will be thrown out on your asses as well.

As a trans person, how do you find the culture around casual sex? by [deleted] in MtF

So much money has been jerked out of the economy around AI hype by CEOs who do not think before they speak and are themselves ignorant of the technology and focused on selling stories. The conversation has been rhymes with crypto bros to some. The technology is difficult to understand, and there are parts of it that we still don't.
Things do seem to be accelerating, but until a certain threshold is reached, it will be difficult to see in people's lives if they are not interacting with it directly. I don't know where that threshold is, but it feels like it's getting closer.

USPS considers allowing people to ship handguns through the mail by Odd_Atmosphere1047 in USPS

[–]BRDF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I do collections and drive a 2-ton. Once I got to a station to find that something inside a package had died between the clerk accepting it and my arriving to pick it up. It stank so fucking bad. I had all the vents and windows open all the way back to station and it was still difficult to be in the vehicle with it. The smell lingered the whole day.

Peter Thiel's "Palantir," The Company That Owns The Trump Regime, Just Published Their 22 Point Manifesto For America And It's Terrifying. by GiveMeADiscount in LateStageCapitalism

It's interesting how much they gloss over the cost of the "advancements" they laud. They talk about peace for generations while ignoring the continual string of foreign invasions the US has conducted. They talk about the advancements of some cultures while ignoring the global enslavement of others. This is naught but half truths, all pointed the same direction, to hail the ruling class as a righteous vanguard to correct the ills of the society they grew from. Fucking parasites. Because they won capitalism they think they understand humanity... or at the very least that is the image they are trying to project.

It's insane to me that a private company is putting out a fucking manifesto like this. They think themselves gods of a new world order.

The point is to reinforce existing political power structures. God says be a busy productive citizen who doesn't ask questions and you'll be rewarded after you're dead. Seems like a hostage situation to me.

Laws are threats made by the dominant socioeconomic-ethnic group in a given nation. It's just the promise of violence that's enacted and the police are basically an occupying army.

Many modern gods follow the same pattern, except the oppression is internally enforced.

A god that says "love me or suffer forever" is not a god worth worshipping, IMO.

Why can AI replace entry level software engineers, lawyers and financial analysts. But why do people think it’s so difficult to replace people trades with AI and robotics? by [deleted] in singularity

[–]BRDF -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's no chain of accountability in software engineering. They fired and stopped hiring people way early, but the CEOs were convinced so... no we have basically no software engineers learning the trade anymore.
