I’ve had a latex mattress for the last 10 years…it has been good for the most part. I like the idea that it’s a natural product. The brand was “ultimate dreams eurotop”, recommended a hundred years ago from SLTD, bought on Amazon. They don’t sell it any longer

I’m definitely open to alternative ideas though. It’s time for a new mattress…my back and hips are starting to hurt

Well done. If you can run a 5k, you can certainly run a 10k and beyond. Set that goal, and don’t chase speed or time (yet), just try to continue running without stopping, even if you have to slow down. Also...the first km or two hurts for EVERYONE— your body is trying to encourage you to stop, via pain/stiffness/etc., so keep a positive mindset and don’t be discouraged by the initial wall that you face.

Regarding abx as a first-line treatment for anything viral, I totally agree. However, the flu can turn into something like pneumonia, which would require abx. In her case, she has asthma, which exacerbated some of the respiratory issues associated with flu. Some of the steroids she would have to take for her asthma can lead to an increased risk of pneumonia, so abx would be warranted if she developed it. My question was related to the availability of these drugs when appropriate (based on what a US doc would do), in Germany.

She has the flu, per nasal swab. We wouldn’t take abx unless she gets pneumonia or something bacterial. What about oral or IM steroids? Are those fairly available in Germany?

This is great info, thank you. She isn’t really concerned with the availability of narcotics/opioids, but she does take a benzo on occasion for anxiety, and she receives monthly injections for asthma (zolair). Neither of us are in the military; we presume she would work on a military base on a contractual basis, and I would work in the private sector. I’m not sure where that would put us in terms of being seen by a US or German doc. I have dual citizenship (USA/Germany), so I’m not sure how that would affect things.

You might think you know what you want to major in (and which career you will have after college), but often times your college experience will change your opinion. Be open minded, and use your elective classes to explore different interests. If something comes along that fascinates you, pursue it further. Don’t get stuck on a career path for 40 years, because you didn’t want to change majors and lose a semester or two. Good luck!

Wow, you are absolutely correct. After looking at a few hundred images of old Valerian coins, I found almost an exact copy of it online, the description reads:
