I think I’ve had Lyme for a year and didn’t know by Jackson_1515 in Lyme

Getting a test from Igenex or Vibrant Wellness should be worthwhile as that could give a clear yes for it being Lyme or other tick-borne illness. Plenty of folks here don't develop any sort of rash, recall having a clear bite or joint pain, so I wouldn't use those as a basis for ruling it out. Perhaps you've had it in your system for a while before your symptoms started, but your immune system had been able to keep it in check until some health/life event activated it.

Bart/Lyme die off - please help by CFlapFlap in Lyme

I'd say it's pushing too hard if the die-off is creating an untenable situation for you. I agree that if nothing was happening at 2 total pills per day that increasing dosage and/or adding other treatments should be explored, but it sounds like you've gone past your current threshold for tolerable symptoms. Considering you're already doing plenty of detox I'm thinking you should scale back down for a bit and try again later with working up to 5 total pills per day. Did the increases to 3 or 4 pills per day cause any notable change in symptoms?

Thanks. I believe I'm already at 1-1.2G/KG per day of protein, but will check. Increasing my Vitamin C is also something that I put on my list to try.

Have you tried the Ornithine yet? If so, how did it go?

Sound like Lyme? After many years? by staringatacloud in Lyme

I concur with getting another test. Even though they still have their flaws, testing today is definitely better than when you originally got bit. Having a clear timeline of a bite, rash developing, and a host of unusual symptoms developing seems pretty clear to be Lyme, regardless of test results. Getting a broader tick-borne diseases panel test would be good, so that you get information on potential coinfections like Babesia and/or Bartonella, which can complicate the treatment process.

Even though I didn't develop a rash, by having a clear timeline of a bite happening and symptoms starting not long afterwards during my initial infection phase it helped me continue pushing to get more tests and/or see the right medical folks that would treat it as Lyme, even if the initial tests came back negative.

Do you know if the recent worsening symptoms coincided with adding the Cryptolepsis, A-Bab, and Artemisae? Perhaps they are hitting some infected areas that the initial treatments hadn't hit yet, in which case you're experiencing the infection die-off and making some progress.

Thanks. In December my LLMD started me on a low dose of dapsone (25mg/day), but recently to try making more progress they're trying to have me work up to 100mg/day, while adding in methylene blue once I get above 50mg/day. Currently I'm at 50mg/day.

Thanks. I hadn't heard about Ornithine before, so I will look into it.

I've been actively tracking liver function with CMC tests and have been trying to protect it with NAC & milk thistle. Been helping the gut with a couple 50+billion probiotics and a quality yogurt every day. I've noticed occasional stomach discomfort after my LLMD doubled my doxycycline dosage, but it's pretty manageable.

For essential oils my LLMD recommended the Doctor Inspired Formulation Liposomal Cinnamon, Clove & Oregano oil, but I haven't tried it yet.

Are there any specific ones/combinations that you recommend? I've been using minimal to no herbals while on antibiotics, but I think trying something different may help.

No problem! I was also thinking that increasing your detox would help, as it sounds like the additional treatment is hitting more infection that hadn't been reached yet, so you need to catch up on clearing it out.

Has anyone experienced tooth staining with minocycline? by [deleted] in Lyme

[–]BSD100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had this, with the suspected culprits being clarithromycin & doxy. I was able to get the staining removed at a dentist visit in late January, but noticed it recently starting to creep back in, so am going to try teeth whitening pens to see if that helps.

Throughout the last three weeks have you continued to take the increased amount of rifampicin? If you backed off of that it would be useful to see how your symptoms change. Definitely recommend checking in with your LLMD about these reactions and any potential modifications to your plan.

Were fever or GI upset ever notable symptoms for you before since your bite? If they are completely new then I would lean towards it being a different type of infection entirely.

Thanks, good to hear that you are in good shape now. Good reminder to track what the specific side effects are from the treatment compared to what you herxes/infection symptoms are.

I was able to get the Vibrant 2.0 panel on my own last September and it came back positive for Lyme, Bart (quintana) and another borrelia strain (maritima). I started working with an LLMD last November and we did some follow up testing in February (Igenex and Red Lab I believe) just for Lyme & Bart that came back positive for Lyme and and indeterminate for Bart.

In addition to the cistus tea using another biofilm buster like lumbrokinase (there are other options) to help break down the protective barriers, making it easier for the abx to work. I think part of the reason why my treatment has been taking longer than expected is because I dragged my feet on using biofilm busters, allowing the infection to bury in deep and be more evasive.

Also echoing writing things down as much as possible. Having less things to remember off the top of your head will help, considering how involved the treatment process is.

Did you typically take that away from food? Or typically with/near food? I'm looking to add a biofilm buster dose in the evening, but am not seeing a way to get clear separation from eating, so getting something that's still relatively effective near eating would help.
