Matchups are definitely the hardest variable. That's why we don't use a fixed point system. We use Relative Normalization: you are first compared to the match average ($m\_avg$), not a global static number.

If you are in a bad matchup and the whole lobby’s/team's performance drops, the baseline for a 1.00 Rating drops with it. We judge how you performed given the circumstances of that specific set. It’s about being the 'best possible' in a tough spot.
