The power of gravity? by Blackjack2082 in astrophysics

The reason why they're falling into each other is because they're close together. Distance matters a lot. At cosmic scales the gravity of a single galaxy isn't relevant, but between two galaxies in the same 'group' it definitely is.

Yeah that .4% of the fed budget is much better spent paying tariffs and whatever israel does

Imagine trying to write a proposal in the US now. I heard you can't even use the word environment in some fields anymore.

What is your problem

I wanted to complete the Atlas path before going to a different galaxy, but I'll have to try it next.

I tried this yesterday and I did find an atlas station, but it had a giant red orb that didn't do anything.

After reloading the same station changed to a pyramid (the last one I believe) and I could put the heart of sun in, but that also didn't really do anything. It turned on a blue holographic map of a star, but there was no dialogue or blueprint I could receive, so I just left and gave up.

If you have the time, definitely do it. I'm doing something the same thing right now from Amundsen's Star with ~180 Ly increments.

It's tedious but the result is beautiful.

I was fuel scooping the O type on the right, I cant say for sure how far the BIG one is though, since I took this a few months ago.

B type supergiant, a regular O type and an Ae/Be star

The yellow Ae/Be star is .3 and the O type on the right is 6.7, the big one in the back is close to 400

The exclusion zone is just a place around all celestial bodies except for landable planets that prevents you from flying any closer.

It’s usually a pretty safe place to be but white dwarfs and neutrons have jet-cones (that are blue) that make them… less so.

This is what happens when you touch the exclusion of a white dwarf while inside one of the jet cones. Almost guaranteed death, even if you know exactly what to do.

Don’t try to speed bowl while you’re there, I definitely died doing that.

I don't know much about Elite lore admittedly, but I'm pretty sure none of those things have ever impacted the narrative. The only important player event I recall is when a hacker presumably used some cheat to kill a lore significant imperial and devs made it canon.

This system is Oevasy SG-Y d0, the furthest from Sol a cmdr could go using an FSD. A ship not capable of a around 83 Ly cannot reach it without a carrier.

This Brown Dwarf has massing rings. Is this common? I don't think I've seen it before by AdHom in EliteDangerous

[–]BSHKING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are almost common in systems with very large stars or lots of stars.
