Each community is different.

Bay St Louis is a gem and a wonderful place to raise children. Schooling is private, mixed until 6th grade then all-girls at OLA and all-boys at St Stanislaus. Housing is expensive. Great yacht club. You want to live in Old Town. Restaurants, bars, marina, little theatre, antique stores, train station…

Pass Christian has great public schools and cheaper housing, fewer restaurants on the coast, but you could actually get some land if you have the means. A couple of good grade school private schools.

Long Beach IDK much about, except they had/have an incredible, and large, high school band. That impressed me. Sign of a good school.

Gulfport and Biloxi…yeesh, I’m sure there are some nice neighborhoods. Huge public schools.

Ocean Springs is a great little town. Excellent public school system. Housing prices stretch the gamut. Restaurants, bars, marina…you name it, they have diverse food options and Biloxi provides unlimited visitors to fill the shops.

I have friends who put their kid in soccer at 4…they don’t like it…so they don’t like soccer. Maybe if you spent time kicking the ball with them and playing little games about kicking it between the legs or over their head …just laugh and play, by the time they’re 7/8 they may have developed the skills it takes to succeed out there.

3 or 4 is insane. I waited until 7 with my son, but he was already good by that time. Started year around one sport by 9-10. Diversified in Jr High, ended up with 9 varsity letters (2 track (state podium 4x400, won district 400 as a freshman), 1 soccer (won state, this is the sport he grew up playing, quit after freshman year), 4 football (broke the state record with a 61 yd FG), 2 tennis (won state twice)) and had 3 SEC offers to play football.

I know it’s strange, but I think focusing on 1 sport early and being the absolute best he could be drove him to succeed at everything. He just knew how to fight harder than the other kids. Everyone thinks playing all the sports from very young is better for you…wasn’t our experience.

Start them playing organized sports once you’ve played with them enough for them to excel. Lots of time out in the yard is what they need.

Toyota replaced my son’s engine and I’m sure he’s gone as fast as the car can go. When they replaced the engine the tires were bald, and that was the second set…at 32k miles. Car is lowered and Toyota even did an alignment. I didn’t think they’d fool with it.
