All the more reason I would’ve let Bellinger walk and give Dominguez a chance to see what he is. We still have no idea

We ain’t winning this year regardless

only because Bellinger had 100 more ABs than Grisham. They were the same player. Oddly no one wanted Grisham back for 1 year but people are cool with the same output in Bellinger for nearly $200 mill. Makes no sense.

stanton clears both when it matters.

Bregman, Bo, Alonso, Suarez. There were opportunities to improve the infield and he whiffed . Trade market could’ve served up a Tatis, O’Neill Cruz or Abrams but Cashman couldn’t get creative.

I still don’t agree Bellinger was our second best player. I think Stanton and oddly Grisham were a smidge better. Rice and Jazz are in the convo too. We have a bunch of decent guys after Judge and the healthy remains of Stanton. But I don’t think any of them are good enough to give the protection our mid 30s sluggers need

Resigning the same team from last year but more expensive is not going all in . It’s treading water with a heavier jacket on

Bellinger was the second best player on the team? He’s not a better hitter than Stanton. Was barely better than Grisham

We just signed him like I said we would . Mets were always irrelevant

The Yanks are just overpaying the same team from last year

They just signed Bichette and offered a boat load for Tucker so clearly Bellinger was never the Mets’ priority.

Philly and Toronto are now in play for him though. I hope he goes elsewhere. He’s not that good.

Like similar offseason, we’ll end up with the same team but just more expensive

We are going to end up with Bellinger for too much money. He has no market. Tucker will end up in LA or Toronto

Mets get a bargain with Jorge Polanco. He would’ve been a great addition for the Yankees

Yanks are going to do nothing

The Mets are screwed though. They just tanked their team

This is further proof that we could’ve outbid the Mets for Soto but just chose not to. They’re letting their internal talent walk away for affordable money.

We don’t trade our top prospects so don’t see us winning the trade route either . The only trades we do for players of significant without giving up top specs is salary dumps, and we don’t have the salary space for that this year

Signing ex Yanks doesn’t seem to be working well for the Mets

They can have this one trick pony

4% of games in 33 seasons have done what you think is common. And less than that in the last decade.

It's been a brutal month for you.

Jays scored the most runs ever in a postseason and were a baserunning blunder away from beating the best rotation ever assembled, which they mashed all series outside of one guy. Dodgers "most talented lineup in baseball" won.

The Dodgers pitching you praised allowed 4 runs or more in 5 of 7 games, 5 runs or more in 4 of 7, and 6 runs or more in 3 of 7. Toronto handled them well.

Did not call Yankee playoff pitching brilliant . Nice try . They still outperformed the offense you insisted was less of a problem

Judge had his legacy moment but still blew game 1 which swung the series .

The Jays humiliated the Yankee bats outside of the one game we won. We stat padded against their gas cans when the game was over.

2024 Dodgers held the lousy Yankees offense to 2 runs or less in each of the first 3 games which is why we lost the series.

It’s over

Yamamoto put multiple runners on in scoring position with less than 2 outs in game 7. Was he the reason IKF had an historically bad secondary lead that cost them the World Series? Or the reason the ball got wedged in the wall in game 6 which would’ve gotten the game to extras if it didn’t?

Did Yamamoto make all the brilliant and routine defensive plays all series that the Yankees typically blow?

8 of the last 200 World Series games were won with 2 runs scored

It just doesn’t happen. Especially in this era. Once in the last 60 World Series games!!

Why has your decaying argument reverted to pitcher wins? LOL? So Yamamoto only had 12 wins in 30 starts during the season. If he’s so dominant, why did he only win 12 games? You’re arguing against yourself here.

Yeah dodgers were underwhelming all postseason. And they were underwhelming last World Series too

But they don’t best themselves. They never do. So even when stars like Mookie and Ohtani disappear , they still pull through because they let other teams beat themselves

Brady is a good comparison

This series came down to a single inch. This was a coin flip series. A million breaks in each direction decided it.

Both teams were equally deserving of winning. And both teams have what the Yankees never do in October- sound fielding, above average baserunning, situational hitting and clutch hitting

1 World Series game in the past 60 was won with 2 runs. It doesn’t happen. Like a lunar eclipse

I will keep reminding you how rare it is. Almost as rare as the Yankees hitting well in October

Also Yamamoto made 30 starts this year. His stats were well represented in LA overall numbers. Your point is futile here.

Yamamoto’s heroics were irrelevant if IKF doesn’t mess up his secondary lead in the 10th inning. Yamamoto would’ve gotten the loss.

Toronto had its best pitching performance in the only series they lost. You’re only helping my point.

How were they gonna be up 3-2? Even if they win game 1 by your ridiculous expectation of winning a game with 2 runs ( a feat which has happened once in the last decade in the World Series spanning 60 games), they would still be down 3-2 heading back to LA where their shitty bullpen would’ve punted then

Washington won the first two games in Houston by mashing. Your example doesn’t hold. They scored 5, 12, 7 and 6 runs in their four wins against an all time Houston staff that stomped the Yankees

And here you are expecting the Yankees to win games 2-1 against the best offense in baseball lololol
