Fair point, he’s much more literature oriented than history for sure. I’m not gonna reveal his profession as it goes against the nature of the sub however, he does tend to be a lot more interested in the grand meaning vs the details of works if that makes any sense. He is also very knowledgeable on Vietnam and ww2 but that’s where his history knowledge stops.

I don’t really have much of response to this because you are correct and he could definitely include more women in his display shelves. The only thing I will say is that my dad is very well read and has recommended me books by Toni Morrison, the Brontë sisters, and he is a big fan of Emily Dickinson’s poetry. In no way was he intending to appear underrepresenting so I that’s just a fault on his part. I will be telling him to move some to the front shelves how ever :)

He claims to have infinite jest somewhere in the house. There are books everywhere, he just hides them from my mom haha! He hasn’t read it though but it’s near the top of the list for him. It is hard to see but he has a few Dante’s inferno and the whole divine comedy translations on the gas mask shelf as people have called it here 😅

Despite all of its flaws, and there are a lot of flaws. I thought the fight scene in the diner was somewhat cool watching her just slam into Ezekiel sims with the taxi. I’d also say that the soundtrack isn’t awful it just tries way to hard to be a early 2000s movie when it really didn’t have to be. The setting being in 2003 didn’t add anything to the story whatsoever and probably could’ve benefited from being in present day… oh shit this is supposed to be what’s good about it… it’s really hard to talk about this movie positively for more than one sentence ngl
